Tuned into YouTube last night, looks gorgeous! Not sure free program is necessary with such dicey conditions on the lake, SP looks nice from the start. Unless second day is for men. Will spread out watching over the next few nights.

I really enjoyed this competition, again something different from the Russians. The setting was spectacular, I did like the ice sculptures. However it looked absolutely freezing there. Zagitova and Scherbakova looked to very well wrapped up along with all the coaches.

My favourites were Frolova and Aliev. I was always a fan of Frolova but she has really shown since her move to Rukavitsyn. But for the ban, she would be a multiple European champion and possibly a world champion (assuming the Russian Fed would pick her)

Finished watching. Really, really gorgeous. Favs was Murav'eva, Frolova and Gorbacheva for the ladies, and liked Lurfulin for the first time but, like, that song is hard not to like. Plus Gumennik and Aliev. He certainly looked comfortable and very organic. But I was worried silly when they all sat there after skating, not covering their ears and heads (points to Semenenko). Even when Dikidzhi complained twice of the frostbite, nobody bothered to cover him with a blanket or something...

I also loved the final mix of the skaters just skating and showing off the money-making moves at sunset. Kudos for how they shot the skating, with the traces on the darker ice and that hover boat making appearances in the background, lol.

Lovely overall, but I just wish they put a little bit more emphasis on health and safety
