The 2024 Coupe du Printemps will take place March 15-17, 2024, in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg. The event will feature the Singles (Women and Men) discipline in the Novice, Junior and Senior categories, and will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating and relevant ISU Communications.

So this is why my kid Anna-Flora COLMOR JEPSEN (DEN) has withdrawn from this week's Sonja Henie Trophy - she is going to Luxembourg next week instead.

All the Interclub competitions are colour-coded for girls. But, I have to admit, I have no idea what most of these levels are. I guess we'll find out what sort of ages the skaters are when they come out onto the ice.

The 2024 Coupe du Printemps starts now with the Interclub part of the event. And it is all girls. First up is a combined competition. A group containing 2 Minimen A skaters (1 boy and 1 girl) and 5 Letz Skate A skaters (all girls).

Aha. There is a ticker tape saying that there will only be audio during the actual programme. Phew! I was getting worried.

I hope this isn't the only camera angle we have. It makes the rink seem like an odd shape.

Mmmm. I should have looked at the names and not gone by the colour coding. Because the first skater is a boy. So, it isn't all girls.

And we start with music issues. "Love Runs Out" by One Republic keeps starting, and then stopping.

Ah, it wasn't the wrong music. It was just playing from the wrong position.

Mmmm. The stream froze when they went out onto the ice at the start of the Warm-Up.

Plus, I think there is a girl missing. I counted 1 boy and 5 girls coming onto the ice. Unless there was a girl still behind the boards when the stream froze.

From the Minimen B skaters, we move to the Letz Skate B skaters. It was supposed to be 25 skaters (going by the names, I think it's 4 boys and 21 girls), and I think they were supposed to be arranged into a group of 6; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 6; followed by a group of 7. However, Skater #5 has withdrawn. So, there are now 5 skaters in Group 1; and 24 altogether.

Awwww, it is so long since I saw a "Pirates Of The Caribbean" programme.

But, this girl, Skater #3, isn't dressed as a pirate. Or even dressed in clothing contemporary to the era. She is wearing a dress with a solid black body, solid blue skirt part, and blue lace sleeves.

That said, it is a beauitiful dress. And she did skate well.

It's a pity that the livescoring isn't working. And that there are no on-screen graphics. Because it is hard to keep track of how the competitions are getting on.

First resurfacing now. We re-commence at twenty minutes past the hour.

It's a pity that the resurfacing came at the time it did, because my Dad was already in the bathroom when it started, and only came out as the Group 2 Warm-Up was starting.

Consequently, I am having to pause the skating, and will have to play catch-up until the next resurfacing.

If only the first resurfacing had been before Group 1, rather than after it. I would have been in and out of the bathroom during the resurfacing no bother.

This is why we need proper detailed Time Schedules, rather than the incredably vague one that is on the event website. So that we can properly plan things out. If I had known that there would be a resurfacing after Group 1, I would have paused the stream at the start of this competition, and gone into the bathroom then. And I would have been caught up by the time Group 2 started.

That said, waiting for the bathroom did give me the opportunity to watch the last 10 minutes of the episode of "Rumpole Of The Bailey" shown last night that I taped and wanted to get watched before the skating started, but didn't manage to get finished. So, at least I got something useful done.

That was funny. The first skater in Group 4 came out, and kneeled down into her start position. And this really weird warped version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" started, and she looked around with a look that said "What on Earth is that?!"

It was quickly stopped, and she settled back into her start position. And she was knelt there for ages, and eventually she got up. And immediately got down again, and the music started. This time "Arabian Nights" played (the version from the new live action "Aladdin" film, rather than the version from the animated film). And I thought "yes, that's more like it".

I enjoyed it.
