Same, I think, but, like it's shooting darts in the dark while drunk and juggling weaselsOMG I was better after the so![]()
It's not the worst, and tbh I am glad Martynov grabbed silver vs 5th I pulled out of the bag with random numbers, it's the ice dance that will do me in.Did anyone predict a North American sweep? That was a pretty bad event overall. I'm happy for Jacob and need to watch his skate since I had a work meeting while he was on. I'm also thrilled to see Romsky on an international podium.
It's so him to land a gorgeous 4S and 3A but have issues on less difficult jumps.
And I got 15 points, so don't feel bad!
Andrew and Jacob. What with Jimmy Ma once an up and coming American star now he is like in the third or fourth group of Americans. The fall from grace is hard. I don't think Vinnie or Nathan are coming back. Jason Brown is in trouble so after Ilia you have two spots does anyone in America want the remaining two spots?
+1Andrew and Jacob.
Was Jimmy ever really a up and coming star? Even now with the lack of depth with the US Men he's never really been any kind of contender to make a Worlds teams and he's nearly 30 now. What with Jimmy Ma once an up and coming American star now he is like in the third or fourth group of Americans. I think Jimmy was so likeable and so much fun when on that we all wanted him to do well. Was Jimmy ever really a up and coming star? Even now with the lack of depth with the US Men he's never really been any kind of contender to make a Worlds teams and he's nearly 30 now.
He was an Olympic team alternate. I have faith in him.Was Jimmy ever really a up and coming star? Even now with the lack of depth with the US Men he's never really been any kind of contender to make a Worlds teams and he's nearly 30 now.
Before we throw my man out with the garbage, I think he's only had 3 challengers this year and gotten 3rd, 6th, 6th.What with Jimmy Ma once an up and coming American star now he is like in the third or fourth group of Americans. So do I. Jimmy has been quite consistent this year and has the highest tech base. Let’s see how things play out. With their difficult content these days, everyone seems capable of splatting on a given day and results are often separated by really small margins. He was an Olympic team alternate. He says he has been inspired by his training mates hard work and wants to work that hard himself. Honestly his programs to me this year are pretty blah, but if that's what it takes I guess. So do I. In the Anything GOEs interview that I saw his coach/choreographer had him change music saying it is not winning music. He also said the goal this year is to make the World Team in Boston. From what I've seen he has the tech score to do it, he just needs to convince the judges to give him the rest and be consistent with the quad and the jump combo in the short. People keep looking at Camden and Jason, but their recent scores are not making me a believer. If it comes to body of work, Jimmy may be at a disadvantage. All I know is its not over yet. Lots of time to train and make adjustments. I do sense that Jimmy is very serious about this and will take his best shot at this, he wants his shot. Jakob will likely get the nod next year for Olympics as the up and coming star, so its this year or bust for the rest of the fellas. He says he has been inspired by his training mates hard work and wants to work that hard himself. OK, I am not a coach, choreographer, judge, etc. But I know in the past he's been in the top 3 at Skate America (ahead of Nathan, which was shocking to everyone including himself) after the short. He's been in the top 3 at 4CCs and got small medal after the short. He fell apart in the long both times. It wasn't because of the music. It was because he didn't skate well.In the Anything GOEs interview that I saw his coach/choreographer had him change music saying it is not winning music.
