Skater #2 is doing a Pokémon programme!!!

Didn't watch the series, but I loved the music!!!

He's even wearing an outfit similar to what the boy (was he called Ash?) in the series wore!

Ach, he fell.

But, he still goes into the lead. (The guy on before him fell too).

Appropriate music for the next guy - "Don't Worry, Be Happy"!

I LOVE Skater #4's whole look!!!

He was doing a Charlie Chaplin programme, and was wearing a full black suit with tails, with the odd bit of glitter on his trousers. The top half of his boots were white, and the bottom half were black (I assume it was an elasticated cover). And I loved his black shoulder length hair.

Unfortunately, it was not a good skate at all. He had quite a few falls.

Oh no! He can't stop crying while waiting for his scores. He's distraught!

Into last position. Hardly surprising.

Mind you, he only got 1 point in deductions, which equates to 2 falls. I thought he had at least 3 falls.

I'm sure he'll do better next time.

Oh. The boy that started the second group (Skater #5) was doing a Michael Jackson programme, and was actually wearing an outfit that was like a casual equivalent of what the last boy on before the Warm-Up was wearing (Skater #4).

However, he felt dizzy after his sit spin, and had to stop. He went off the ice for a good while, but then came back and got into position for his re-start. But, the music wasn't sorted out for him.

And then when he did get going, it was a totally different song ("Smooth Criminal" rather than "Earth Song").

That's funny. He finished his programme, but was still performing in character when taking his bows.

Quite a few cuddly toys. The audience clearly appreciated him coming back to complete his programme.

The audience are chanting for him.

I don't know what's going on. Despite the long interruption, he didn't get any deductions. So he has taken the lead!

He's absolutely delighted!!!

The boy on after him, the only boy with a Slavic name, was "Singing In The Rain". And he was wearing a simple outfit - black trousers, white shirt, and braces.

Sasha is very popular with the crowd as well. They were chanting for him too.

And when the scores were announced, the arena erupted!

Into the lead by a massive 15.08 points!!!

These boys are very popular. Skater #7 also got a lot of shouting and cheering.

He was skating to "The Greatest Show", so no need to describe what he was wearing. But I am so jealous of his shoulder-length blonde hair. I would have loved mine to look like that when I grew it during the pandemic, but it didn't work.

Into 4th.

Meanwhile, Skater #8 is skating to "Eye Of The Tiger", and wearing a white T-shirt with black trousers. And he is popular with the audience too.

He was simulating weightlifting at the end!

Ah he's been thrown so many cuddly toys that he has had to carry them off in two goes.

Into 6th.

That resurfacing brings us to the start of our Cubs triple-bill. 24 older girls; followed by 26 younger girls; followed by 16 boys. The 24 older girls are arranged into two groups of 8; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 8.

Skater #8 was skating to "Misirlou"!!!!!!

Great way to finish the opening group!

I was curious about something, so did a bit of digging. And I was correct.

She is the older sister of the boy that did the Charlie Chaplin programme earlier.

Moreover, they are both very good pianists. They each have their own YouTube channel where there are videos of them playing piano, and videos of them skating.

Is there something about skating and playing the piano? First the Gervits sisters, and now the Erturk siblings!

Awww. Skater #14 skated to "Dernière Danse" by Indila, a song I love. And I loved her reaction when she got her scores. She was jumping up and down with excitement!!!

She actually only went into 11th position. Can you imagine how she would have reacted if she had taken the lead?!

When the first skater in the final group (Skater #17) came out, I saw her dress and thought "somebody's cut up Geri Halliwell's Union Jack dress, and sewn it back together differently".

And the music started, and it wasn't the Spice Girls after all. It was Aqua. Yep, we had a "Barbie Girl".

Well, at least it was the right era.

And she was another girl that got all excited and jumped up and down when her scores were announced.

She goes into 6th position.

Skater #19 made a big mistake. There were a whole pile of cuddly toys thrown down for her, and she attempted to gather them all up in one go. And there were so many, she actually fell trying to carry them! And then some more came down! So, she had to do it in two goes.

She went into 4th position.

Then Skater #20 came out in a beautiful black dress and did a "Für Elise" programme. And it didn't go well. She fell twice. And she went into last position.

Hey, what is Skater #21 playing at? She's too young to be on Tequila!

Well she's not going to be one of The Champs today, because she has gone into 15th position, with 3 still to go.

Well, it worked for her! Into the lead by nearly 5 points.

It has been so long since I saw somebody skating to that song. And I wish more people would.

Awwww. Skater #24 is another one that had a whole pile of cuddly toys thrown down to her, and attempted to gather them all up in one go. And as she slowly skated towards the gate, one fell, then another fell...

And she had to go back again and pick up all the ones she dropped!

She went into 22nd position.

Skater #3 skated to "Mambo Italiano".

She went into 2nd position. But when her scores were announced, she did a wee dance!

And the lady with her pulled her back down onto the sofa and they had a big cuddle!

I'm guessing it was her Mum!

What's going on? The resurfacing was supposed to be finished 15 minutes ago!

Have they decided to have a break for tea time, without putting it in the Time Schedule?

(To be honest, I was surprised when I looked at the PDF's earlier and saw that there wasn't a break scheduled).

Finally! We've got skaters on the ice.

I wonder if they decided to take a longer break because a skater in this group has withdrawn. Because I only see 5 skaters on the ice at the moment during the Warm-Up, when there are supposed to be 6 skaters.

It was Skater #10 that was missing from Group 2.

And I think that there may be a skater missing from Group 3 as well, because I only saw 6 skaters going out onto the ice at the start of the Warn-Up rather than 7 skaters.

Having two skaters missing would certainly explain why an extra 15 minutes was added onto the interval.

Oh boys but that was a serious amount of cuddly toys thrown down for Skater #14! It took her ages and umpteen journeys to gather them all up. And she even fell while doing it.

Unfortunately, despite a clean skate, she went into last position.
