2024 Grand Prix de France: Info and pre-game chat

Just an FYI, I love figure skating. Golf and Baseball are like watching grass grow. In fact, any sport that requires only one ball bores me to tears.
But when Johnny Weir says figure skating is hugely popular in Japan he is using a bit of hyperbole. Its not even in the top ten. Baseball is number one at 44 percent. Look it up. But skating does have a good following in Japan. It is hard to watch the "sectionals" and "regionals" over there so poorly attended though. I would love to go there and watch those. Thanks T., you known who you are.

I don't know if this has been shared - someone elsewhere posted a picture of what they said was the KissnCry. If it is, all I can say it that it looks better than the two so far (not hard for SKAM) but stairs? Not exactly tired-skater friendly.

Could be worse....

Cottbus Turnier der Meister, a German gymnastics competition, used to have the winners revealed via hydraulic lift.

Start at 48:40

Johnny Weir is used to spending his time in Japan with or watching Yuzuru Hanyu. Let us say no more....

If this is the completed kiss and cry, it honestly seems to me to be in keeping with the French fondness for stairs... Seriously, there are stairs everywhere in France, to the extent that I joke about France being the world's biggest Stairmaster...

It was the same kiss and cry last year. Skaters and coaches looked okay :)

I missed it then, and not sorry. But in a weird way it's a relief to know that the really awful GP venues so far this year aren't a brand new bright idea by the feds. At least... I think it's a relief :scratch2:

Finally GP returns to Europe. :jump: France was the GP I liked best last season, and the me's field is awesome and full of promises again this year. :jump:

Thanks. Interesting story. Here, we have so many challanged people/vets we have the Americans with disabilites act. It is way out of date, however due to the dramatic increase of those in need, and an aging population (me) I wondered about Europe and access for those who are challanged.
