Here is the Entries / Results page for the Interclub part of the event:

http://www.kristalice.lv/Results/LounakeskusTrophyInterclub/

seems to be small local competition unfortunately

Yeah, the vast majority of entrants are Estonian. Most of international entries come from Latvia, although there are a handful of Finns and Lithuanians as well. But there are no other countries represented.

Consequently, nobody will be achieving scores that count for anything with the ISU.

So, it is just a glorified local competition.

I'm nearly sure it is five.

The most countries we have in the ISU part of the event is three in Junior Ladies (Estonia, Finland, and Lithuania). And the most we have in the Interclub part of the event is four in Advanced Novice Ladies (Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania).

So, not enough countries in any competition.

For achieving minimum TES for ISU Championships, it is 2. So Junior events could count here.
For ISU World Standing points, it is 8 single skaters from 4 countries finishing the SP.

Wow! I didn't think it was as low as 2 countries for TES! Or as low as 4 countries for Standing points! (I did realise that there was an additional number of skaters requirement for this).

Where was I getting the 5 countries from, then? Is that Judges?

Sorry for providing duff information. I should have just tagged you and ask for you to answer, and not attempted to give an answer myself. (I did actually plan on tagging you to check if I was right, but pressed "Post Reply" prematurely. :p So, even if I subsequently edited you in, you wouldn't have got a notification).

I'm glad you did find the conversation.

Yes, 5 judges with no ISU members holding a majority of them.

For World Standing points in Ice Dance and Pairs it is
  • Pair Skating: minimum of five couples out of three ISU Members.
  • Ice Dance: minimum of six couples out of four ISU Members.

Thank you!

You've made me feel a lot better. I was starting to worry that I had imagined that the number five had a significance!

:thank:

Aha! I thought all of this week's events were behind the paywall. But, this one isn't!

It's being broadcast on the following YouTube channel, which broadcasts a lot of Estonian domestic competitions:

https://www.youtube.com/@iSPLive/

So, catching up on 4 Continents might have to wait a few days...

How do you tell if a competition is in Estonia?

The skaters have lots of their team-mates joining them while waiting for their results!

It's good to see that this tradition of the young girls supporting each other has survived the pandemic.

Sorry, much as I like programmes using the music from "Burlesque", it's not really appropriate for skaters of this age.

Also, I didn't like this edit that Skater #4 is using.

But, she takes the lead.

Erm, why is the girl opening the second group, Skater #7, dressed as a liquorice allsort?

Well, given that she looks to be one of the younger skaters in this level, wearing a dress with a pattern that looks like a sweet is probably age appropriate.

Actually, the music sounds very familiar, and I think the costume might tie in with the film it is from. But, I can't think what it is! :bang:

Ah good! The livescoring has started working again, having frozen at the end of Group 1.

It came back just after the first of our four international skaters, all of whom are from Latvia. Skater #10 went into 6th position.

And the Estonian that skated after her, slotted in right behind her. (She was skating to "Loyal Brave True" from "Mulan")

The second Latvian skater that ended Group 2, Skater #12, has a very familiar name. She has the same name as the mother of one of the skaters I have adopted. And you know what, I can see a similarity to my skater. You never know, maybe they are related in some way!

But I can tell you something for definite - the much younger girl sitting with her has to be her wee sister! They are so alike!

She goes into 4th position.

Just to finish off my discussion about the international skaters, the third Latvian to skate, Skater #14, won the competition.

The final Latvian, Skater #15, slotted in just ahead of the first of the Latvians to skate, Skater #10. They ended up 10th and 11th.

Now for the boy.

Oh, I was expecting a resurfacing now. But, we are going straight onto the next competition.

We stay with the boys, but move from the end of a Basic Novice double-bill to the start of an Advanced Novice double-bill. A group of 2 boys; followed by 21 girls.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Men's SP is now on air.

Ooooh. We start with a blonde boy that's wearing glasses.

Fitting that description myself, I'm definitely feeling solidarity with him!

Unfortunately, he made a few glaring mistakes. He had a very abrupt ending to a spin, and also had a fall.

Awww!!! One of the girls sitting with him is holding a doll that looks just like him! Same outfit and all!

(Actually, the parting in the doll's hair is in the wrong place. His parting is on the left; the doll's parting is in the middle; and my parting is on the right).

He goes into the lead. But, will he remain there?

No, my doppelgänger finished second, 4.12 points behind the leader.

And we are having the resurfacing now, before the girls.
