I’ve never known them to, and I have been attending for a few years now.

I plan to express my disgust at the CAS decision to every Canadian skater I see, too! Outrageous.
Oh ok, that’s too bad I always watch the girls at every competition, sad to be missing this one.

I know so disappointing for our athletes who train so hard!

My fave girls are Calissa and Gabrielle wishing them both a beautiful skate today and tomorrow.

Today’s notes—

No filming or stream. Tix are $10/day.

Saw the Junior and Senior Ladies and the Senior Men.

Many Canadian ladies at both levels, all of them new to me. One, Amy Yang, is actually leading Senior Ladies after the short; she gets extra points from me for using The Piano OST, which I love.

Gabby Daleman did not show. She was announced, but did not take the ice with her group, or compete.

Ting Cui did compete, did what looked like intentional doubles, and is still a lovely, expressive skater. Hearty cheers from the audience. Ilia Malinin’s dad is here coaching her.

Joe Klein is the well-deserved Men’s leader after the short. Beautiful posture, skills, nice composed spins with consistent rotation speed, advanced jumps looking more secure than before. His SP is the Westworld version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World.

Also liked Beck Strommer. Will Annis struggled, as did Liam Kapeikis (hard falls on first two jump passes and what looked like a spin error) and the young Canadian senior, Aleksa Rakic.

My favorite of the Junior ladies, Sofia Bezkorovainaya. Nice body control, skills and performance quality—I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the JGP some day.

Which leads me to the highlight of the evening, meeting Ted Barton! Who is here—I assume possibly monitoring the Canadian skaters, who are well represented here as I say.
