The 2024 Philadelphia Summer Championships will be hosted by the Ice Works Skating Club and will be held at the IceWorks Skating Complex Jul 31 - Aug 4, 2024, in Aston, PA.

This year's event will be a NQS (National Qualifying Series) event for singles.

With just a few days to go, the tentative schedule has not been replaced by a final schedule, and the page for hotels still has the following: Preferred hotels and negotiated rates for our 2024 event will be available soon.

Has anyone been able to get confirmation that this competition is happening this year? Last year it was cancelled, and the website was never updated.

As far as I know, it's happening this week. We live about 45 minutes away from the venue, so we plan to be there Friday (after the morning rush hour traffic) & Saturday.

Last year (June 2023) we attended a Billy Joel concert in Philly. While I was waiting in line for the ladies' restroom, someone recognized me (since we have attended the summer competition @ Ice Works since 2009). It was Megan Williams Stewart, a former competitive skater who worked @ Ice Works for several years. I asked her about the competition for last year, & she said that it wasn't taking place, but she did say there would be one THIS year. I think she is now involved with the skating program either @ University of Delaware or the Skating Club of Wilmington now.

The schedule is listed in EMS through the US Figure Skating Members Only site. Because this is such a complicated competition with both NQS and nonqualifying events at all levels, with multiple ice surfaces, it is not easy to consolidate a schedule.

It looks like all the standard junior and senior events will be on Rink 2 on Friday and Saturday.

Is there somewhere we can live stream this event? We have quite a fee skaters from Canada attending and I would like to watch the Jr ladies event.

I’ve never known them to, and I have been attending for a few years now.

I plan to express my disgust at the CAS decision to every Canadian skater I see, too! Outrageous.
