They are disappointing pair to watch now for me. I think knowing they are going to Olympics is making them comfortable/ complacent? Not a knock on them, i think it’s just a natural thing (ie the cdn men) thankfully they are forced to go harder this season. Lia Trent have had a few seasons of struggles now. Finally Lia makes the throws and Trent messed up twice! Eek on the jumps

I actually think it's the opposite . they wanted that podium too much today and got nervous right away.

I would agree but it’s been a few seasons like this now and if they really want that doesn’t skate Canada provide mental coaches or something like that. They don’t have anyone pushing them. I bet if Kelly Ann and Lucas had been pushing more (like they did at skam) would they be sharper now?

LOL... I know you are kidding but Canadians don't need a visa for Italy I agree though that he is bringing it strong with a Challenger win and a GP podium finish to get a ticket for the games. I like Roman better but I think Gogo is the one who should go based on this season.

I like Roman better too and think he has better scoring possibility if he were ever to go clean with no qs or doubled jumps and if he could get his levels up. However he has had so many chances in the past and as mentioned above GoGo is only 20 so sending him might be the best bet for the future.

Agreed, in theory GoGo could continue for another quad. Now that he is healthy he seems relatively consistent, and now he can work on performance

I mentioned how I like Roman better to highlight how Gogo is unbiasedly deserving of the ticket for me

After rewatching both Roman's short and long I feel he was unfairly given several qs. Think once you get the rep for having qs or under-rotations the callers are more apt to review your skate.

GoGo and Roman are really putting up a fight for that Olympic spot. It is so good to have two men pushing each other this way. Think both of them should have been up a bit more in PCS, which might have even put GoGo in 2nd place.

Gogolev's component scores are pretty generous, if anything.

Hopefully that's something he can work on if the tech is finally becoming less of a struggle.

I think Maddie did what she needed to do here, have a solid short and free after how her season has gone. Hopefully her short program music gets sorted out and she can have a program that she loves as much as Lion King for the second half of the season.

With her short program lead, if she had gotten all her jumps done cleanly she would have hung on, but obviously that's a pretty high bar. Still a positive trajectory for her after the early struggles, but it has to be frustrating for her that these chances keep slipping away.

Like Colonel says.... had she done her 3L3T and a clean 3F she would have had enough points to be 3rd overall.

We have really stepped it up in the singles disciplines

I have no idea what went on with them but it was unfortunate. Very unfortunate. They used to be such great jumpers but they are struggling this season.

Interesting. I've never thought of jumps as a strongsuit for Trennt. Lia, absolutely. But not Trennt.

When they first started out together, I thought they were very good with them. The timing, the matching angles etc... They looked like true SBS jumps... it's been a little while that they are not doing so well on them... no idea why
