2025-26 British and Irish figure skating

On the subject of American skaters representing Ireland, the new girl that became Junior Ladies champion in June, Julianna FARRELL, ages out of Juniors after this season! So, if she wants to do a Junior GP, this is her only chance.

With this in mind, I am amazed that Julianna wasn't on the Entry List for Latvia.

We finally have our first Irish entry on this season's JGP - Julianna Farrell at Gdansk (Solidarity Cup).

Better late than never! ;)

I am glad that Julianna got the call up. As I pointed out a few weeks ago, she ages out of Juniors after this season. So it really was a case of now or never for her to make her Junior GP debut. The other girls that are competing in Juniors are younger and will get another opportunity next season. Julianna won't.

That said, I am still disappointed that the ISAI didn't make use of the slot in Riga. They could have given two skaters the opportunity, or given Julianna two opportunities. But, alas...

By the way, Dillon Judge and Carolane Soucisse / Shane Firus will be going to Beijing for the Olympic Qualifying Event in a couple of weeks time. Being realistic, Dillon will not be in contention. He'll be there for the experience. But, Carolane and Shane have a chance if they skate well.

All the best to all of them.

I believe that Neamh Davison and Daniel Borisov may have just earnt the CTES for Junior Worlds at John Nicks. Could someone double check? I am tired and I don't trust my maths.

They needed 37.62 in the free for the CTES, they got 42.08 at John Nicks, so they did earn it :) I usually check Skating Scores to see how much they need for it.

Yes, they have. This will make the fight in junior pairs way more interesting this season, as both teams will want to go to Jr Worlds, especially as they are both aging out of Juniors at the end of the season.

As long as both pairs have a fair chance to fight for it. :) If Zarah and Alex go, I want it to be because they were genuinely the better pair and not just because of who her mam is.

Will the Bolero Cup count for TES mins?

The Robin Cousins Cup did, because my baby girl Stefania Yakovleva (CYP) got her TES minimums for all the Majors in her very first Senior level competition. So I would expect the Bolero Cup will too.

Helpfully the Skating Scores page for it says Tech mins: Yes. Could be good news for Ashlie and Louis as they are very close to it.

Freddie Leggott looked like he was enjoying getting into ice dance which was nice!

What has she said? :( I can't read the post
If you're on a computer, and open the link as its own tab, you can tap the arrows to change the pictures without having an Instagram account. I saw this earlier, but it was a screenshot, so I didn't realize that she didn't have anything in the text under the photos.

She's mentions dealing with her mental well being, and a serious injury.

Let's hope Nina stays fit. If she doesn't, we won't be able to send anyone to the Olympics for that category unless either Emma Lyons or Genevieve Somerville managed to get the technical minimums (and they are both a fair way off at the moment).

Thanks. :) When it said 'swipe here', I thought that meant in the comments - and couldn't work out how to do that on a computer.

Really feel for Kristen. She says this isn't a goodbye to skating - hopefully she is able to come back at some point and finish on her own terms to a degree.

What a shame, I know she has a back problem that she has to manage, she did so well last season. Gives Nina an opportunity, but didn't she withdraw from competition recently with a possible injury?

Nina WD from Robin Cousins Cup. Someone (I think it might have been @Ruthypegs) mentioned further up this thread that they had been told that Nina WD because she had a migraine and it wasn't safe for her to skate.
