2025-26 Russian Local Events – Discussion

Shesheleva/Karnaukhov quad twist, 3F+3T+2A, 3Lz...
3FTh, 3LoTh step-out, the only mistake.

If they last till seniors like this they will be unbeatable.

Edit: There was some TES drop, but this is only the beginning of the season.

Diana Milto 4S+2T seemed clean. Second 4S two foot landing.
q, but not two-footed.

But the program is a downgrade from last season's Pink Floyd.
Am I the only one feeling the senior programs so far are dire? 😬

Maria Z absolutely killed it, her choreo is incredibly effective and the tech is absolutely confident, but like, are we really in need of another Moulin Rouge program? So many... every.... single... season...

So far we've seen Gushchina, Yametova, Vazhnova, Sinitsyna, Zakharova, Kulikova... are you particularly impressed by any of these programs in themselves at all? 🤔

Trofimova is a colossally talented dancer. Very few skaters can move like she can.

1:40 - we see skaters attempt this gunshot gimmick all the time, and I think she has executed it at the highest level. Best I've seen likely.

But, to be honest I think she sort of gets overwhelmed and loses it when the music gets big and orchestral. :(

Korcha's FS music is sort of junior level, the SP is must better, but she is still unfathomably impressive for being 12. Genuinely: does anyone remember a single skater who could present like she can at 11/12? A single one? I can't. I think Kamila only really really got started by 13?

Korcha is lowkey my favourite skater now, aside only perhaps from Adeliia, and we'll see how some others do at test skates.

Junior Men in SPb

Lenkov - very strong and confident skate. Nice to see it as he was absolutely not in shape at test skates.

Khamzin - clean but elements weren't too good. Anyway, nice to see him back, at least.

Kamoev - I see has switched to SPb after all. He looked much stronger than before! If he keeps his cool programs and Mishin fixes his jumps, he'll be a great well-rounded skater. Probably deserved a little higher PCS.

Ramzenkov - I barely recognized him, he grew a lot. He lost his ultra-c jumps. The triples were solid, especially the combo, though. The spins were very bad for some reason. The program was very good, definitely deserved a higher PCS.

Grinkov: Stream was lagging a lot, fortunately after ice resurfacing it seems they fixed it finally. But scoring is weird again.

Yametik finished. I liked her more than the last time. Jumps still look little heavy but all seemed fully rotated and she paid attention to performance.

Little known Maria Elisova just landed 3A in her SP. Everything looked clean so her score should be high.
