I’m really worried about how JSF is scoring Hana regarding PCS. Don’t get me wrong, I love Rion and she absolutely deserves every PCS point she gets, but putting Hana down so much in comparison to her just hurts and is unjustified. I’m starting to wonder if this is some kind of 'punishment' for not doing the 3A in the SP. Back then Hana’s PCS used to be higher domestically …

Edit: Last year, even with a fall on her 3A, she received 5 more points in PCS in domestic competitions

It also makes sense that most Hamada skaters are attending Doshisha, a private university in.... Kyoto. Their home base rink is also in Kyoto, an hour from the university.

Not sure about Hana, but Shunshun said in an interview his role model is Kazuki Tomono, so that might have influenced his decision

BTW did Kao WD from this competition, or was he never scheduled to participate in the first place? Hope he's doing OK...

So many boys look up to Kazuki

Kao was exempt from the qualification competition so could've participated but I think he just decided not to
He withdrew from Nagoya fest though...but you probably already knew that

The message I get is Mone has taken over as the top Hamada senior girl so Hana's not needed anymore, and that skating skills of hers in comparison to Rion (and the Nagoya girls)... a bit tragic unfortunately. And Japan loves their SS.

They probably want her to work more on her presentation and ss instead of relying on the 3A
