this is the perfect program to show how figure skating is now really more how you skate a story than how you skate to music. I mean, there is even dialogue in the middle. Yi did well. I am not blaming her. Just this tendency. Why can we not have just nice movement to nice music...?

if lutzes are a problem today... I don't think Maddie will skate well... when she lands the opening 3lz-3t combo, she's a very different skater (for the rest of the program) than when she doesn't.

I'm pretty sure every triple was at least a q, the replays are not kind to her jumps at all, plus she had a spin error on the flying change-foot combo

Pretty good for Josephine Lee - I wish she would extend her legs through the knees like she does with her upper body. It gives her a bit of an unfinished look. Perhaps it is a side effect of the firebird music which insists on such quick movements. Or maybe I am just getting tired...
