Never heard Noemi JOOS (ITA)'s name pronounced that way before. I take it that is the correct way, and everybody else has been getting it wrong.

Not familiar with the song she is using, but it is perfect for skating to!

That worked really well.

Really weird re-mix of Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me" for Alisah REITERER (AUT).

I love that song, but that rapper coming in really ruined it.

And now the "stream suspended" message has re-appeared, after not being here for ages! :drama:

Oh, come on. After seeing Lilli Ann PRANGEL (EST) in Advanced Novices earlier, I wanted to see Marta Helena PRANGEL (EST), who is coming up now.

Szilvia Barbara FULOP (HUN), who we missed, went into 10th position.

Well, it came back for a while during Marta Helena PRANGEL (EST). And I was regretting it coming back because, although I love the instrumental version of "Gopher Mambo", I hate this version with vocals!

Looks like she had a fall. (Funny how we always assume that a deduction means a fall, rather than a music or time violation).

She goes into 6th position.

This is unfortunate. We don't get to see the Canadian skaters as often as we should to start with, because of the Fed not sending them out. And now we are not getting to see Megan WOODLEY (CAN) on the rare occasion that she is out, because of the copyright police on YouTube.

Oooh. According to the livescoring page, she gets two points deducted.

Although we can't see it, the Group 4 Warm-Up should be happening now. And there is a withdrawal from this group. Skater #18 Eles NAMAZALIEVA (AUT).

Opening the group should be Anna RUIS (AUT), whose brother was supposed to be closing out the opening day's action, but has withdrawn from Junior Men.

Sorry, I had to leave there for a while. But, I just checked and I didn't miss anything.

Stream has now ended, and is displaying the following message:

Unlike the earlier streams, this one is gone completely.

Hopefully a new stream will appear soon.

Right, I'm going to have to leave now for food.

They appear to still be at the resurfacing, so hopefully a new stream will start up when the Warm-Up begins.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's having to be careful. as it seems like the last copyright notice was a strike (and not a claim) as the video was taken down completely. 3 strikes within 90 days lead to the deletion of the channel and all its content.

Yipes. We really wouldn't want that to happen. There's nearly 900 videos on his channel going back over a decade. When long serving channels like that go, it is a huge loss.

To be honest, I think the organisers were being a bit careless today. They should not have been playing music in between skaters, and certainly not from big name artists. When you are streaming the event on YouTube, you can't afford to take any unnecessary chances these days. It's a big enough risk playing the skaters' music without playing additional music that you don't have to.

I don't know what they will (or should) do about the rest of the event. Resume tomorrow and take a chance of the channel getting zapped? Start up another channel just for streaming the 2025 IceChallenge? Abandon streaming the event for this year?

If worst comes to the worst, the Volvo Open Cup starts tomorrow. But, who knows, the same problem might arise there.

The minefield that is music copyright is killing this sport.

Since there are only a few skaters left in this competition before the next resurfacing, I've wound the stream back and am playing catch-up.

It started when Marta KAIĆ (HRV) was waiting for her scores.

Sorry for not commenting so much since the stream came back. I'm just not in the mood. I haven't been feeling well for the past few hours, and I am so peeved off over what has been happening with the streams today.

Final group of the day now on the ice. Just the four of them. As I've mentioned a couple of times already, the final skater, #10 Daniel RUIS (AUT), has withdrawn.

On the subject of the Ruis family, if anybody is wondering, Daniel's former Pairs partner / younger sister Anna is currently 26th in Junior Ladies.

I apologise. There has been another withdrawal. Skater #8 Benedek Pal DOZSA (HUN).

I wonder if he was in the Warm-Up. I didn't actually count the skaters.

EDIT: Now that the action is over, I've checked. There was just three in the Warm-Up.​

So we go straight to Robert WILDT (DEU) to finish off the day with "Tango De Roxanne". :rolleye:
