2025 JGP Riga Cup Pairs Short Program

Kviderova/Kliment are promising and look great together on the ice. I liked their checquer outfits, they are satisfied with their skate. The score is lower largely because of easier technical content than that of teams above them.

LOL... the tech panel discussions... that's rarely the issue for me, except maybe for dance... but they are trying

The top 3 are tight to each other, but have given themselves a lot of buffer to the next teams.
On the other hand, 4th to 10th are separated by 5-6 points, so there the fight will be close and the Free might bring some changes in rankings.

I need the French to get back up for my own scoring :)

I was not expecting them to go into 4th!
I actually did expect them to go pretty high in the "big bulk" of pairs teams, considering how everyone skated today. Before, I probably would not have thought that was likely, but today, it was a bit messy for lots of pairs, and Kviderova/Clement were not very messy.

(Though the SP was luckily overall not scary, which is good.)

Whenever I see a promising CZE pairs team, I think about Kovarikova/Novotny I loved these two. (yes, that means i am no longer 25 years old)
here's the team we are talking about...she is Gordeeva like

I thought they were going to slot in just behind the second US pair and possibly the second Chinese one, rather than just ahead. There's less than a point and half between the three pairs, though. Before I saw them skate, I was expecting a much weaker skate based on their previous scores. They really rose to the occasion.

They were quite new to pairs last season, but this was a big improvement, even taking that into account. Very happy for them :)
