I have a feeling like at least one other team will score above Shin/Nagy. Will they still be sent to Beijing, that's the question...

I always thought it was a placeholder, and that nothing would really be decided until after this competition. They just had to put someone, and as a first choice, you put the only team that had competed a full competition at that point in time.

LIU / BEDARD: she goes down on the first sbs jumps, but the second sequence (something 2a 2a) went beautifully. Great throw 3lo, but she falls on the second throw. Music: two men in love, again

But from what I've read in other threads USFS favours Shin/Nagy a lot. Personally I think it's unfair to keep pushing a team that's clearly not quite there yet. Unfair to them and unfair to the other teams.

They got the Worlds mins in their first competition. Not bad after all.
Still people who were ready to give them the Olympic spot right away might have been a bit too quick with that.

CHAN / Spencer Akira HOWE: he pops the first jump in their SBS combo, struggles with the next one, she lands first throw slightly forward hand down, she pops jump in next sbs jump, lands second throw. Lifts twist etc look good, ghost is not my fave

Katie McBEATH / Daniil PARKMAN: he falls on first sbs jump, they get through the next set though slightly out of sync, both throws landed beautifully especially thr first one, gorgeous transition from death spiral right into pair spin, overall very strong
