The 2025 ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships will take place Mar 7-8, 2025, in Gothenburg, Sweden. The event will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations and Technical Rules Synchronized Skating, as well as all pertinent ISU Communications. Skaters must have reached the age of thirteen, but not have reached the age of nineteen, before July 1 preceding the competition.

Each participating team must consist of sixteen (16) skaters and may have up to a maximum of four (4) alternates listed on the Team Entry Form (Rule 800, paragraph 2 b) and c)).

What I got back from this event :

1) SO many countries represented. The LP was many hours long... This is very encouraging for the sport of Synchro.
2) Of course, the same 4 countries still dominate : USA, FIN, SWE and CANADA but there is movement.
3)Talking about movement, a lot happened in the LP so much that the leaders after the SP fell off (literally) the podium.

I watched the last three teams live... well, I intended to watch some more but got distracted by another skating event :)
Elite Junior from USA skated to black swan and had a huge personal best. It put tremendous pressure on the teams who were ahead of them after the SP. Skyliners Junior didn't do well enough and ended up in third place. I only saw the end of Fintastic junior and I have to say, I was expecting that simply due to the level of energy. Team Supremes junior were in first place and had their own destiny into their hands after the SP. They had a very good program but at this level, one major mistake and that's it. A random fall in the spin element caused them a lost of GOE and PCS which was enough to keep them away from the medals. I was a bit disappointed for them because they were doing very intricate skating, in general, their formations were much closer together than the other teams. Their triangle intersection was spectacular. They also have a lift in which the person lifted was moving in a wave manner which was cool. Though I was rooting for the current world junior champions Les Suprêmes, it was refreshing to see that the judging penalized them rightfully so for their mistake in such a tight competition.
I will try to catch up later on Nova, the two Finnish and Swedish teams.

Looking forward to World syncrho senior championships...

I watched most of the SP and all the FS!

There were interesting programs throughout the event.

I particularly liked Finntastic and Jingu Ice Messengers, despite Skyliners being my local team.

This was the first time ever that USA has won a World synchro event.
