It was a beautiful competition. I just can't help but adore Japanese skating. It's all about the glide, even the skaters who are weak at jumps and are unlikely to ever make it to the top are such a joy to watch thanks to their skating skills. The deep edges, the smoothness, the elegance. Anyone else feels the same?

After following figure skating again in 2018 and finding the international leaders in the women's discipline... lacking, I found that I can follow the local Japanese competitions through this forum and honestly never looked back.

Edited to add: the glide is not just all smoothness and elegance in Japan; it's also the speed and the power and the intentionality.

That's how I feel about men discipline, I prefer the domestic Japanese competitions than watching international usually.
