2026-27 Grand Prix assignments are out

Yeah the data when put together is pretty astonishing, can’t remember anything close to that kind of numbers of retired, split, undecided and in search of new partners in my 50 years of following FS. There must have been something in the air in 2026 for all of them to catch that itch of needing change/new life ?!
Good luck to all!!
Surely many factors are involved for each individual situation. Also, it's likely due, in part, to a combination of the new quad and everyone seeing the pairing of two experienced ice dancers (F-B/C) turn out to be hugely successful immediately, which is rare for a debut season that's an Olympic season. Of course, they are both exceptionally skilled and were successful with previous partners. What also helped tremendously was their dedication to succeeding and their thoughtful, unique choice of music matched by great choreo. Material that enhances a pairing is everything. Success bears a lot on great packaging, in addition to talent, timing, luck, and hard work.

They have removed Selection Criteria from the site. I guess the full Grand Prix announcement is coming.

Explain to Me what removing of selection. Criteria means.
It could me their is no senior grand prix this season .
Skaters do pull out after it started selection Criteria would still be needed.

As told to me by another poster , I don't read or post enough to understand figure skating which several other posters agreed or told me to think.

It okay to tell me I misunderstand what I read but not for other to misunderstand me.

Explain selection Criteria taken down means full grand prix announcement

Apparently this forum is supposedly the only place to get figure skating information.
Wikipedia is bad because people can edit.
Where does Wikipedia and other get their information.
Form the federation website, isu,
Or from the skater personal media sites

Who runs the skater personal media website.
What info would put on to help promote or pay for skating that is expensive.

My guess is that because of so many splits and retirements in pairs and ID this part of subsitutes will be rethought. Maybe the substitutes will be selected based on CS results? But note this is only just my personal guess. Does this make sense?

It makes perfect sense, given it's a transition year into new quad and the untapped pool

One of the problems with Wikipedia, is that they require secondary sources, ISU being a primary source. I have never understood this rule!
