Surely many factors are involved for each individual situation. Also, it's likely due, in part, to a combination of the new quad and everyone seeing the pairing of two experienced ice dancers (F-B/C) turn out to be hugely successful immediately, which is rare for a debut season that's an Olympic season. Of course, they are both exceptionally skilled and were successful with previous partners. What also helped tremendously was their dedication to succeeding and their thoughtful, unique choice of music matched by great choreo. Material that enhances a pairing is everything. Success bears a lot on great packaging, in addition to talent, timing, luck, and hard work.Yeah the data when put together is pretty astonishing, can’t remember anything close to that kind of numbers of retired, split, undecided and in search of new partners in my 50 years of following FS. There must have been something in the air in 2026 for all of them to catch that itch of needing change/new life ?!
Good luck to all!!
