Ted talking with Lisa Carriere about Synchro 9, she had reservations when it was announced but got some information that put her mind at ease. Plus she's excited that it'll be at YOG 2028. Canada, Finland and the US have synchro 9 teams (Canada led by Marilyn Langlois, so that should be Les Supremes)

Lower Mainland - go for 16 single axels, which is a new feature. Lisa mentions that they aren't checking for rotation or double-footed landings since the ISU wants to encourage teams to go for it. One member fell.

Prima - Fall during the twizzle element. Also Lisa is good at explaining the technical rules, she went into why having the steps called base isn't a bad thing in Synchro.

Gold Ice - the interesction is well timed with the music, unfortunately a fall near the end in the no hold element. They talk about how they're using Running by NF and it being used by Ilia Malinin also.

And time for the ice resurface, Ted and Lisa continue to talk for a bit before they cut to commercials.

Ice IGNITE - Only 4 members from last season are on the team for this season (Charlie Anderson and Layla Veillon both aged out, maybe Olivia Corneil too?) They did the axels, and then there was a fall during their pivot block that took some time for the skater to catch up. Fun routine, it's a shame about the fall.

NEXXICE Jr - Easy to pick out Michael Boutsan in the team, and after Ice IGNITE it's interesting seeing all the skaters doing synchro and ice dance. They're skating to Voila, and also do the single axels in the no hold (along with flips and loops too? Lisa mentioned that.) Really nicely done.

Also the crowd is going wild for Nova Jr during the replays.

Nova Jr - I think that was a fall before their interesction? Also do the axels in the no hold. 10 new members this season. Edit - it wasn't called as a fall.

Oh dear, they were not expecting that score. I think NEXXICE Jr will defend their silver.

Les Supremes Jr - their music stopped for a few seconds in the middle and started again? Also they do the jumps in the no hold, now I'm starting to recognize it before it shows in the tracker. Collision during the intersection. They have 12 new skaters this season.

...oh wow, they're second and NEXXICE wins the short. Okay, they had two falls, one in the intersection and one on the twizzles.

Nova had a strong short too. Also no one's jumping in the no hold since the steps are leveled in Senior while the no hold element is base level. Their scores are close to NEXXICE, should be an interesting free.

Les Supremes - strong, but someone had an issue with their biellmann at the end.

81.44, I'm not sure, there was an issue at the end with the spiral.

Ted and Lisa didn't turn off their mics during Ted and Joni's preview Okay, they turned it off now.

They talked about CBC Sports taking over the cameras starting today, and now the CBC Sports logo is glitching.

Lisa talking about synchro 9, rules should come out in April. 2027 Worlds will have Synchro 9 at the Junior level to qualify for 2028 YOG.

Also she talked to Marilyn Langlois, the music did cut out in the arena during Les Supremes Junior and that may have caused a fall during the intersection.
