I don’t know if anyone else kept the stream on, post-medal presentations, but I did. Lia & Trennt slowly made their way on the ice, around to all those who remained, people chatting with them, congratulating and wishing them well. I finally turned it off after about half an hour. The arena staff had removed the podium and carpeting by then. Lia and Trennt hadn’t yet gone over to the other side of the rink.Agreed. Deanna has absolutely high standards. Not that she has to prove anything to anyone but the very reason she came back was to not have any regrets so I understand not wanting to ever leave anything on the table. And that just lends itself to a more intense vibe. And it’s an Olympic year with momentum being everything and a legit shot at a medal, so I understand not wanting to take the foot off the gas.
So thrilled for Lia and Trennt! They delivered when it mattered and are returning to form. Hoping for healthy peaked performances from our pairs but these are three solid pairs teams - wish we could send all three to Cortina.
It was wonderful to see them enjoying the fans and their moment.
