2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

Well, we already know where Agata PASKO / Krzysztof SADOWSKI (POL) are going to finish. But they were getting a LOT of support from the audience when they were introduced.

Agata wearing a black jumpsuit. Krzysztof wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers.

I have no idea what this is that they are skating to, but it is a definite 🙉 fror me.

This mess of noise may not be my taste, but my goodness the skating to it was good!

There's not enough room in the resutls area for all the team-mates that want to join them!

They win.

Onto Masters Elite, and Elina VIOLA / Jason TURNER (CAN) skating to "Nervous" by John Legend.

Elina wearing a beautiful white dress. Jason wearing a white T-shirt and black trousers.

Curious choice of song for Pairs skaters. You wouldn't want Pairs skaters to be nervous. It could lead to disaster.

But, the song worked really well. I would like to see more programmes to it.

And to finish the Pairs skating for today, we have Elaine JURUN / Alec SCHMITT (USA) skating to "Free" by Rumi and Jinu.

Elaine wearing a black and gold bra top, white skirt and black tights. Alec wearing a black gi and gold belt.

They were good too. This could be hard to call.

I think I'll go for the Canadians, though.

No. The Americans win.

We leave the Pairs for the day now to go to a quadruple-bill of "normal" FS Singles skating.

5 Masters I ladies; followed by 6 Masters III+IV ladies; followed by 5 Masters III+IV men; followed by 3 Masters Elite ladies.

I'll be eating during these competitions, so I mightn't be commenting as much.

Jessica MAH (CAN) wearing a dress in two shades of red.

I'm trying to work out if this is tango music. I'm not sure. Hang on, I recognised the last piece of music.

Such a pity about the fall near the end. Because it was going so well.

CaroLiza_fan

Angela THOMASIUS (CHE) wearing a dress that is purple until you get to the skirt part, when it turns orange.

Skating to "Clair De Lune", but it started at a lot later to where we normally start. So, consequently, we got to hear parts that we don't normally hear.

Hang on, it's gone all techno. In fact, it is starting to sound a bit like Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise", and then sound like Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River".

What is going on?

Anyway, the skating was good.

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Molly LINDER (USA) is wearing a beautiful blie dress.

Skating to two Adele songs: "Daydreamer" and "Oh My God". And I wouldn't have believed it was her if I hadn't read it. The two songs are so different and, frankly, neither of them sounds like her.

I didn't like either song.

But the skating was good.

She goes into 3rd position.

Eugenie LETOURNEAU (CAN) wearing a dress that is mainly black, but has a silver section on the front top left.

The music was lovely. There was a section with vocals in the middle, but it had ended by the time I thought of looking up lyrics.

Pity about the fall, because it was good otherwise.

She goes into 4th position.

Katia GAROBBIO (CHE) wearing a beautiful black dress, with a couple of cut-outs in strange places.

I like the music. Sounds like just a piano and a double bass. No, some vocals have come in. And then plucking a string instrument.

Then the music changed completely. guitar and drums, and then a trumpet was added.

OK, there are getting too many pieces to describe them all. But, I really liked all of them.

The edits were mostly good. There was just one transition that I thought was a bit on the rough side.

That was really good.

I have a feeling that she will win this.

Taking a long time for the scores to come through.

She finishes in 2nd position.

Onto the next competition. A group of 6 Masters III+IV ladies.

And I am going to start on my tea during this Warm-Up.

CaroLiza_fan

Elizabeth McGLAUFLIN (USA) wearing a dark blue dress with sparklies. (Looks like a starry night, so surprised it's not "Vincent")

I think this is the first Ludovico Einaudi programme I have seen this week. I don't remember any others in the time I have been watching.

That was beautiful.

CaroLiza_fan

Sonia GOUGEON (CAN) wearing a beautiful dark blue dress.

Skating to a couple of ABBA covers. The first, "Money Money Money", wasn't good. But the second, "Voulez Vous", sounded more like them.

The skating was good, though.

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Susan BEALE (NED) wearing a black dress with white pattern around the neck.

To be honest, I didn't try to find out what the music was because it wasn't my taste.

But, she skated well to it.

She goes into 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Kelly CLEMENTS (CAN) wearing a black dress with god sash pattern running from her right shoulder to her left hip.

Skating to Nazareth's cover of "Love Hurts". I have never seen anybody skating to any version of this song before, but now I really want to see more skaters do so, particularly to this version.

That was beautiful.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Selena FLYNN (CAN) wearing a red and white striped bra top, and red skirt.

I can't remember for sure, but I'm going to stick my neck out and say this music is from "Prince Of Egypt". I'm pretty sure it's from a film about Egypt anyway.

That was really good.

I got it wrong the last time I attempted to call a winner, but I'll try again.

I think she'll win this.

She goes into 2nd position.

Right, I'm going to give up now.

CaroLiza_fan

And now we move onto their male counterparts.

It was supposed to be 5 Masters III + IV men, but skater #1 Eric BILARDI (USA) has withdrawn.

CaroLiza_fan

Stephane VACHON (CAN) wearing a black top with white pattern on the right shoulder and arm, and black trouser.

Skating to a Depeche Mode medley. Didn't recognise the instrumental at the start, but it was followed by "Enjoy The Silence" and "Personal Jesus".

We've had a lot of Depeche Mode recently, and I'm not complaining!

That was good.

CaroLiza_fan

Rolf PETERZIEL (DEU) wearing a black top and grey jeans.

Skating to "The Loneliest" by Måneskin.

Don't think I've seen a programme to this song before, but it worked really well.

He goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Axel RINALDI (FRA) wearing a black top and black trousers.

Skating to "Just a Gigolo". Not sure who it is singing, but I do recognise the voice.

That was so much fun!

And I think Axel was out there to make it as entertaining as possible, because he was over-doing it on most of the elements.

And it worked. The audience loved it!!!

Hang on. The audience were singing "Happy Birthday To You" as he was taking his bows. And it was playing over thte tannoy too.

I take it it is Axel's birthday! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

He goes into 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Alain FRANCEZE (FRA) wearing a black top with sparkly pattern, and black trousers.

Skating to instrumental music. But I can't identify what all was in there.

Am I going mad, or were there a couple of bars of "O Canada" a few seconds before the end of the programme?!

I enjoyed that.

He finishes in 3rd position.
