2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

Katariina JOHANSSON (FIN) wearing a beautiful black dress.

Skating to "Sway". It sounds like Nicole Scherzinger singing, but I don't remember her version having this type of backing music.

Skating was good.

She goes into 11th position.

Everybody is delighted.

It's Phil Archer! (You have to be from my part of the world and be into motorbike racing to get that reference!)

No, actually it's Janina KROGMANN (DEU). She is wearing a black jumpsuit with a skeleton on it.

Skating to a bloke singing in French. Don't know the song, but I liked it.

Ach, she fell just before the end. But, she did manage to fit in a lovely Sit Spin right at the end.

I enjoyed that.

She goes into 23rd position.

Kamila WISŁOCKA (POL) wearing a beautiful black dress.

Skating to "All These Things That I've Done" by The Killers

Never would have imagined anybody skating to that song, but I really enjoyed it.

And the whole Polish team are back. (They do look really smart all in their team jackets).

She goes into 7th position.

Jekaterina REINESBERG (EST) wearing a red dress with silver sparkly trim. And a whole area of sparklies in her hair too.

Skating to "Lose Control" by Teddy Swims.

Not bad.

She goes into 13th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Anita BENESOVA (CZE) wearing a dress that is mainly dark blue with sparklies, but the end of the skirt is peach coloured. And dark blue gloves.

Skating to "People Help the People" by Birdy.

When I saw her dress, I was hoping that it was going to be another "Vincent" programme like we had yesterday.

But, I'm not annoyed, because this was beautiful.

She goes into 3rd position.

Daria STIEGLER (DEU) gave a smile to the camera when she got into position.

She is wearing a grey shiny top, a white skirt, and white hair ribbon.

Skating to "What A Feeling" by Irene Cara. But there was a VERY rough edit when we reached the chorus. We heard "What A...", and then it jumped to the instrumental section. And then it faded out at the end.

The editing of the song did spoil the programme.

As for the skating, she was trying her best.

She goes into 29th position.

Monika GAJDA-PAKULA (POL) wearing a beautiful red and black dress.

Skating to a strange instrumental version of "Seven Nation Army". But, although I wasn't sure about it at the start, I grew to like it.

I did feel cheated when it was building up to the big instrumental again, and then stopped just as it was reached.

The skating was good.

Yes, I enjoyed that.

Now there are so many team-members that some of them are having to sit on the floor!

She's got a cuddly pierogi.

She goes into 9th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Claudia JAUCH (CHE) wearing a red dress over a black dress.

Imagine Dragons again already? This time it is a trailerised version of "Warriors".

I don't know if it was intentional or a problem, but the sound was coming and going in the second half.

She goes into 19th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Viktorija KAULAKIENE (DEN) wearing all black. Dress and stockings. And with her black hair as well, it is a bit too much black.

Skating to beautiful instrumental music.

And the skating was too.

She goes into 30th position.

And we finish this competition with Rita LAM (CAN), who is wearing a pale pink dress.

Skating to beautiful instrumental music, where the piano is prominent.

There were a few issues, but what a lovely programme to finish with.

She goes into 29th position.

Awww. The smiles of her!

We come back from the resurfacing to continue our Free Skate competitions with a combined group consisting of the oldest Bronze and Silver men. It starts with 3 Bronze V men, who are followed by 3 Silver IV men.

CaroLiza_fan

Larry FRENOCK (ESP) wearing a white shirt, black tie, black braces, and black trousers.

I don't know what I was expecting when I saw the costume, but it wasn't what we got. The music was like something you would have seen Fred Astaire dancing to.

I really loved that!!!

CaroLiza_fan

Ben DAIDONE (USA) wearing a black shirt and black trousers.

Doing a "Pink Panther" programme dressed all in black?! That's different.

But, it worked. I enjoyed that programme too.

He looks disappointed waiting for his scores. But, he looked happier after hearing them.

He goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Roland SUCKALE (USA) wearing a grey coat and white trousers.

We started with some dialogue setting the scene, followed by some imposing music. I wish I knew what film it was all from, because I loved it.

He finishes in 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Onto the Silver Men. First up is Pierre MICLETTE (CAN), who is wearing a beautiful black T-shirt with blue areas with stars, and black trousers.

Skating to "I'm Still Standing" by Elton John.

That was great! And the spectators were really getting into it!

Seeing them going back to back, you can see the difference between the Bronze and the Silver skaters.

Big crowd in teh results area, with two Canadian flags and a Quebec flag.

CaroLiza_fan

Todd MAINE (USA) wearing a top that is mainly very dark blue with a bit of light blue at the front, and mainly light blue with a bit of dark blue at the back. And black trousers.

Skating to a cover of Andy Williams' "The Impossible Dream".

That was beautiful.

Amongst the crowd, Ben DAIDONE (USA) is sitting beside him.

He goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

No, Giorgio SALVAI (ITA). Everything about this is wrong.

He is wearing what looks like a Blue Man jumpsuit. And skating to techno classical music.

That said, the skating was sublime!

Despite the awful costume and teh sacriligious music, with skating like that, he is going to win this hands down.

Awwww. Is that cute little girl his granddaughter?

He does win.

CaroLiza_fan

We continue the "normal" Free Skates by moving from the oldest Silver Men to the youngest. A group of 6 Silver I Men.

CaroLiza_fan

This is surreal, because on Saturday and Sunday, I was watching motorbike races that included a rider with the same name as the first skater! But the rider was British.

Luke BROWN (USA) wearing a black Top with light blue splat on the front and light blue cuffs, and gold pattern around the neck. And black trousers.

Because of the gold pattern, I was expecting an Egyptian theme. But, I have no idea what the theme of the programme is. I don't know how you would describe the music. There was a bit of everything in there.

The skating was good.

CaroLiza_fan

Jonathan LUCAS (FRA) wearing a dark blue top and black trousers.

Unfortuantely, I couldn't make out enough of the words to be able to do a lyrics search to find out what the song was. But, it worked as skating music.

That was good,

He goes into 2nd position.

He's happy.
