2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

If Emmanuel PERRIN (FRA) isn't doing a Rocky Horror programme, I'll eat my hat. He looks just like Richard O'Brien!

No, It was Romeo & Juliette.

He is wearing a black cloak, black jacket, red top, and black trousers.

He was good, but I don't get how his costume ties in to the story.

He goes into 2nd position.

Davide CHIESA (ITA) is wearing a black top and black trousers.

Skating to beautiful piano music.

And he finishes up spread out lying on the ice.

That was great!

He goes into 3rd position.

They're delighted in the results area. But I thought he would be higher than that.

Theo FISCHER (DEU) wearing a black top with lots of white spots, and black trousers.

Skating to a song in French. Don't know the song, but I liked it. The guy has a pleasant voice.

Strange fall. But otherwise good.

He's taking the mistake in good spirits.

He goes into 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Jan LUKES (CZE) wearing a shirt that looks like it is made from tin foil, and black trousers.

Skating to "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley.

That was a load of fun! And the audience loved it!

What a great way to finish the competition!

He finishes in 4th position.

We now move onto a triple-bill of three Ladies Free Skate competitions, which are on a new stream:

https://sporteurope.tv/deutsche-eislauf-union/isu-adult-fsc-2026-tuesday-may-19th-part-2

We start with a group of 5 Silver V ladies; followed by a group of 6 Gold IV ladies; followed by 31 Silver III ladies.

And first up after this Warm-Up is the lady in the thumbnail: the oldest skater in the event, Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ (CZE).

CaroLiza_fan

Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ (CZE) wearing a burgundy dress with silver trim.

Sounds like Greek music to me.

The applause says it all.

Wow. When you're good, you're good. No matter what age you are. And she was certainly good!

Not sure how many days it is until her birthday, but:

:cheer: HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY JANA!!! :cheer:

Barbara LINN (USA) wearing a beautiful extremely pale green coat and matching headband.

Pity about the fall not long into the programme. Because it was beautiful apart from that.

I take it the little girl and little boy at the end are her grandchildren. They look very proud of her anyway.

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Dagmar KNÍŽETOVÁ (CZE) wearing a beautiful dark blue dress with turns pink and then white in teh skirt bit.

A "Greatest Showman" programme. Skating to "This Is Me" by Keala Settle.

That was good.

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Renee LANDRY (CAN) wearing a dress where the top half is black with a silver pattern, and the bottom half is royal blue.

Skating to "Sadeness Part II" by Enigma. Or, to put it another way, Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" as you have never heard it before.

I love spooky programmes. So I loved this.

She goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Linda FRANCES (USA) wearing a dress where the top hald is mainly light blue and the bottom half is mainly black.

Skating to "Fly Me To The Moon" by Frank Sinatra.

This is the lady that I saw sitting with various American skaters the past couple of days and have been thinking "you look familiar". So, she's a participant rather than a coach.

That was good.

She finishes in 5th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Onto the Gold IV ladies now. A group of 6.

Oh, and a change of announcer. We have a male announcer now.

Oops. He introduced the wrong set of skaters! He read out the names of the skaters in the first group of the next competition.

CaroLiza_fan

Beata LASZLOFFY (AUT) wearing a dress which is light blue in the biddle, and a darker blue in the skirt and around the shoulders and sleeves.

Skating to the instrumental version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. And it is actually them playing.

And the editing was actually good for a change. I have heard it absolutely butchered so many times to fit the time, but this was carved up well.

The skating was good too.

A great way to start the competition.

That is a big Austrian flag being held up behind her. It needs the four people to hold it up.

CaroLiza_fan

Sirpa MANNER (FIN) wearing a dress in various shades of blue.

Skating to an ABBA medley - "I Have A Dream", followed by an instrumental (it might have been "Does Your Mother Know", but I am not sure. I haven't heard it as an instrumental before), followed by "Angeleyes".

Queen followed by ABBA. Can you get a better way to start a competition?!

I haven't actually seen anybody skating to any of these songs before. But, they all worked.

I loved that.

She goes into 2nd position.

She is delighted!

CaroLiza_fan

Gabriele HUTTER (DEU) wearing a dress that is green with white flowers on it in the top half, and yellow in the bottom half.

I recognise the music, but can't remember what it is. But, the sound quality is awful! It sounds like somebody has taken a metal comb to the CD. So scratchy.

It did seriously spoil the enjoyment of the programme.

She goes into 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Tracey HODGKINSON-JONES (GBR) wearing a dress made from various different pieces of red material.

Skating to "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera.

That was really good.

This announcer is making so many mistakes. He called her Jennifer. That's the next skater.

TRACEY goes into the lead.

CaroLiza_fan

Jennifer SILAS (USA) wearing a pale cream dress.

Skating to beautiful instrumental music.

That was really good too.

You know, the announcer may have been seeing into the future. Jennifer may be going into the lead.

No. 4th position.

So much for my attempt at giving him an excuse.

CaroLiza_fan

Mariette HENKEL (DEU) wearing a beautiful purple and black dress.

Skating to beautiful instrumental music that gave way to an instrumental version of a song that I have seen skated to a few times with vocals. But I can't remamber any of the lyrics to look it up.

That was beautiful.

She wins.

CaroLiza_fan

And now we do move onto the Silver III Ladies FS. 31 of them.

Two groups, then a resurfacing, then the final two groups.

CaroLiza_fan

Starting with two British skaters.

Helen CAMPBELL (GBR) is waring a peach dress.

Skating to an accoustic female cover of "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls. To be honest, I am not fussed on it.

But the skating was beautiful.

CaroLiza_fan

Dawn HANNAY (GBR) wearing a black dress with silver pattern.

Skating to that trailerised version of Britney Spears' "Toxic". Thankfully it then turned into real Britney in the last third of the programme.

Could she not have used the original for the whole programme? Remember how good Liza Tuktamysheva's EX programme to it was.

Skating was good.

She goes into 2nd position.
