2026 ISU International Adult Competition - Oberstdorf | May 17-22

Selena FLYNN (CAN) wearing a reverse zebra dress, where the background was black and the stripes were sparklies.

Skating to "Boogie Shoes" by KC and The Sunshine Band

And boys was she getting into it!

That was really enjoyable,

She goes into the lead.

She can't believe it. Ryoko comes in and congratulates her.

Magdalena HUBER KREDL (CHE) wearing a pale pink dress.

Skating to "Je Ne Regrette Rien" by Édith Piaf. It's been a long time since I saw somebody skating to this song on it's own, as opposed to being part of a Piaf medley.

And I loved this programme!!!

She goes into 2nd position.

Natalie SHABY (USA) wearing a white dress with black pattern. But it still blended into the ice.

Skating to "Be Be Your Love" by Rachael Yamagata. Hadn't heard this song before, but it really works for skating to.

I really enjoyed that.

She goes into 3rd position.

OK. The younger Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ (CZE) is dressed in full cowboy gear.

Skating to "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. Another song I hadn't heard before.

But I've heard the second song lots of times. "Cotton Eyed Joe" by Rednex.

And this is why she is a former Medallist at Senior Nationals. That was absolutely brilliant!!!

She even did a cartwheel!!! 🤸‍♀️

Mum looking as proud as punch.

She wins. As if it was ever in doubt!

Big kisses for Mum and, I asssume, Dad.

Well, will the guys live up to their female counterparts? Time to find out in the final competition of the day.

Stephane VACHON (CAN) wearng a top that is mostly blue with a silver pattern, but has a white left sleeve. And black trousers.

Skating to a French song that has been used lots this season, but I can't remember what it is called.

A bit of comedy early on, pretending to crash into the boards in front of the Judges, and crawling up.

Well, it was a great start to the competition.

Taking a very long time for the scores to come through. I wonder if they are disagreeing about the incident at the boards.

Finally!

He got a deduction. And he puts his head in his hands realising that being funny has backfired.

Gary BEACOM (CAN) wearing a purple shirt and white trousers.

What on Earth?! 😲 Hard rock Tchaikovsky?! :jaw: Yes, it really is "Dance Of The Sugarplum Fairy"!!!

That was priceless!!!

I thought the younger Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ was by far the best I have seen at this event, but just 15 minutes later that has blown her out of the water.

And this is why he is a multiple former Medallist at Junior and Senior Nationals, and former Junior National Champion.

He goes into the lead.

Leigh YIP (GBR) has a hard act to follow. He is wearing a red shirt, and black trousers.

Don't know the music, but it is more conventional classical music. Oh, it then went all Spanish guitar.

He'll not win. Gary's got that sewn up. But, will it be silver or bronze?

He is so happy waiting for his scores.

He goes into 2nd position.

Like last night, I am bailing out now. With everybody being presented with medals, the Podium Ceremonies take too long.

Well, I missed the Warm-Up, but I got back just in time for the first skater. And I am so glad I did, because Daniela VALLONI (ITA) was skating to my favourite piece of skating music. "Lux Aeterna" by Clint Mansell.

I actually remember her from previous seasons.

She was wearing a jumpsuit that was black on the left hand side, and sky blue on the right hand side.

A good way to start the day!

And we continue with music I like! "Goldeneye" by Tina Turner.

Maria Del Mar von BODDIEN (CHE) is wearing a black dress with gold pattern.

I was surprised that there wasn't some sort of James Bond reference, because they normally do include something when skating to a Bond theme.

But, it was a good skate.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Oxana LOBES (DEU) wearing a royal blue dress with gold pattern.

Skating to a waltz. (Can't remember what the piece is, but in my head I can see a scene from a film where people are dancing to it).

That was really good.

She goes into the lead.

Second James Bond programme of the day from Lucy MURDOCH (FRA). This time it was "Skyfall" by Adele.

However, there was a bit of confusion. I don't think Lucy realised that it took that long for the vocals to start, and she was starting to panic.

And then at the end, the music finished before she did.

I wonder if this was a different edit to what she practises with.

She is wearing a greeny bluey dresss.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

We are only in the first group of the day, and already somebody is skating to a musician from my part of the World.

Susanne GRAVES (DEU) is skating to "Still Got The Blues" by my fellow Ulsterman, Gary Moore.

She is wearing a green dress with gold pattern.

I really enjpoyed that.

She goes into 3rd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Stephanie DANGUIN (FRA) is wearing a lovely purple dress.

We are getting a lot of programmes this week to songs from "Burlesque" that don't normally get skated to. This time it was "Bound To You" by Christina Aguilera.

And it was beautiful.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Sandrine RABEMANANJARA (FRA) is wearing a red dress.

More Irish music, but this time from the South. "Dreams" by the Cranberries. I have always loved this song, but this is the first time I have seen somebody skating to it.

I really enjoyed that.

She goes into 6th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Eeva-Maria JURKKALA (FIN) wearing a fluorescent orange dress.

I don't think I would ever have guessed that she would be skating to an instrumental version of "Sway".

Once your eyes got acclimatised to what she was wearing, it was actually a good skate.

Erm, the flag is being held upside down.

She goes into 5th position.

She's happy.

CaroLiza_fan

Agnieszka PUCULA (POL) wearing a gorgeous white dress. It's just a pity the ice is white too, because this dress deserves to have a contrasting background.

She was skating to a song in Spanish. I'm not an expert, but I would guess that it was from Cuba.

Ominous start. She fell barely 10 seconds after she started.

Not quite as many team-mates as we usually get in the results area. Just 7. (The others are probably practising). But she's got a cuddly pierogi.

Taking a very long time for the scores to come through.

She goes into 7th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Manuela LEHMANN (DUE) wearing a dress that has every colour under the sun in it. But, it is not actually bad looking. It's very subtle. From a distance, you would think it was a plain silver dress.

Skating to "MacArthur Park" by Donna Summer.

Well, that woke everybody up!

A real bundle of fun!

She goes into 8th position.
