Overscored or not, the AIN2 Athletes have huge PBs.... Hard to ignore the scoring gap between them and the rest of the field. I know... meaningless scores until they have skated with international judges but... still...
I guess the technical panel can axe this BV too if the jumps are not well done.A lot of those scores was because of BV of their elements. If they can't reproduce the ultra c on international ice, the scores will be much lower. Like, Lazarev was landing 4Lz with 2 axels combo in a 5 quad FS. But age, growth, pressure of the competition...
Yes, they can. Unless Lazarev doesn't give them any grounds to find an excuse to penalize him. We will know in a few days if he is on form. His 5 quads skate is from last March.I guess the technical panel can axe this BV too if the jumps are not well done.
thanks... that is informative. His GOE and PCS would never be that high internationally.. That's for sure. Did I miss a jump or he didn't do a triple axel ? I have 4 flip, 4 lutz, 3flip-3toe, 4salchow, 4lutz-2a-2a 4t-3t and 3loop ? If he doesn't have the 3a, he would be set back in the SP which will not help his case for the LP. I can see issues with skating skills here but most boys that age are scratchy. Very talented skater who is just about to hit puberty hard though. We will see what happens in the next few years.Yes, they can. Unless Lazarev doesn't give them any grounds to find an excuse to penalize him. We will know in a few days if he is on form. Thanks again for sharing.
The scratchiness I am referring to is not about some roughness in landings but rather the overall blade action on the ice.He has 3A. The layout is 4F, 4Lz, 3F-3T, 4S, 4Lz2A2A, 4T3T, 3Lz
Here is his 3A in SP

Part of scratchiness is probably chasing 5 quad program that he was after for a couple of years. I have no insight what they will present internationally, but they might reduce content to give him breathing room in the Little Prince which is going to be his FS iirc. Fedotov could always count on really high PCSs, and since it was between them two for years now, Lazarev and his coach maxed out quads, securing Jr national titles for him.

If memory serves he's shown 4Lz3A in training, but not 4Lz3A2A. Lutz is obviously a comfortable jump for him, so I guess 3Lz>3A on that last jumping pass. I don't think jumping was a problem last season. I don't know if he had a growth spurt or any other health problems/injuries. If he is replaced for China in early August, then he did, which would be unfortunate. He's competed like a lion for this assignment. The scratchiness I am referring to is not about some roughness in landings but rather the overall blade action on the ice.
I think the layout will be modified anyways because of the new rules. Strange that he does a 3a in the SP but not in the LP. Maybe he was working on 4lz-3a-2a![]()
