It's not just Dessie Abigail HOEWING-MOXLEY's hair. That is the sort of programme I can imagine Zhenya and Geoff skating to. And I can imagine Zhenya wearing that dress too.

Dessie Abigail HOEWING-MOXLEY / Artyom SLADKOV (DEU) were not bad for a new partnership. And I am particularly impressed with her for coming straight from Solo Dance.

Okay I am back and have caught up (sort of) and even what two hours into the season I can see two things clearly.

I have spent my entire life totally misunderstanding the meaning of the word 'waltz'.

I am not going to have nearly as much snarking about RD costumes as the last few years. Most of the girls' dresses are lovely and the boys are mostly dressed quite well (for figure skating). Though I am trying to decide whether I am appalled by the Toccata and Fugue one (and her costume!) or utterly adore them...

I didn't even nitoce the waltz (ok, I'm still half asleep). This program is not my cup of tee. They made Prince boring.

And we finish with a Prince programme from Summer HOMICK / Nicholas BUELOW (CAN). And it starts with "Wow"

When they first came out, I wasn't sure about Summer's dress. But now that I hear the music, it is definitely a suitable choice.

I enjoyed that.

Definitely not a waltz. But there was more waltzes than I expected or at least waltz passing stuff

I was a Weaver/Poje fan, I enjoy Summer and Nicholas's dancing but not feeling the waltz here Kaitlyn... Did I just dream the commentary I thought I heard from Kaitlyn a few years ago about missing pattern dances?

Mark was still in Russia just a couple of years ago, so it’s not particularly surprising.surprisingly. It’s an original choice for a waltz (and far from the worst compared to others). But I doubt slowing down the music so much is a good idea.

Ach, I just noticed that we still have this AIN nonsense in the entry lists.

Which are the Russians and which are the Belorussians?

Do they not understand how nice it is to be able to just glance at the Entries and know straight away which country they are representing without having to pause and think about it? (Or ask somebody. Or actually look it up).

AIN1 is Belarus and AIN2 is Russia.

Lift dismount a bit messy, but otherwise great! Some unique movements there, love the creative ending pose
