2026 Masters de Patinage

This year the Masters de Patinage are leaving Villard de Lans for Louviers, in a part of Normandy closer to Paris and will take place between August 27th and August 29th:

The tickets are already for sale:

The Masters are an invitational national competition for Juniors and Seniors expected to compete internationally, with sometimes foreign athletes. It's not part of a selection as we see elsewhere, but at least for Singles and Pairs (Ice Dance is managed by a different section of FFSG), its coefficient 3 allows competitors to climb in the "French Ranking" which is used for many purposes in the French Federation. The French Ranking is the sum of half the total acquired in the previous season plus the sum of all scores in present season's competitions, each affected by a coefficient, from World Championships with a coefficient 10 to smaller competitions not following ISU rules at 0.25.

In previous years, if I remember correctly, the Coupe de l'Ouverture was this early, and the Masters would often be in October; this year the Coupe de l'Ouverture (a little bit less selective?) is in Grenoble, September 26-27th, which hasn't been completely officially announced yet?

Last year, there have been videos, so let's hope that we have some this year too!

Very very late edit: regarding Luc Economides' participation, in light of the questions arising from his absence in the Grand Prix assignments or Alternates, in theory the Masters are a compulsory competition for those invited and he would be invited, but waiving it seems easy; furthermore, the entries usually come not very long before the competition.
