Now folk dance waltz? The kids don't really know what a waltz is do they?
The Carandiuc's are very slow and their edges are not very strong. Their expressions are very timid as well for as long as they have been around. I keep trying to like them, but they are not winning me over. Is it just me?

The Carandiucs always slay the stylisation of their programs. Love them, even if they aren't the technically strongest team.

I really like the Carandiucs. To be fair, I know absolutely nothing about ice dance and waltzes. I just thought it was a good skate.

The problem lies in the ISU requiring a second Rhythm/style in the Rhythm Dance. The better RDs will chose other ballroom styles and stay within the same general flavour of music, but they'll still all have to do something else alongside a true Waltz.

Madelaine BREAU / Kurtis CHE RD scored 45.97 back in June and now have improved to 49.08. Nice!

Summer HOMICK / Nicholas BUELOW.
I used to stop in her hometown Tillsonburg on the way to see my grandparents.
That pattern looked rather labored. I think she is a huge Tessa fan - I hope she got to work with her.

The worst part is that I deluded myself into thinking we'd have beautiful classic Waltz (-adjacent) RD choices... Sigh.

well.. this RD is like the bag of onions I have just bought... most of the onions are almost rotten. I had to fight really hard to find a couple that were nice and fresh.

I think by the end of the season, these skaters will all have learned a lot and hopefully improved a lot.
I want to be kind and recognize that they are all a work in progress right now.

that's for sure. My problem is not with the skaters it is with the no waltzes.

We may need two years of waltzes - that's what we got the last time if I recall correctly.
I recall vividly Davis/White and Tessa/Scott programs.

Judges clearly are not impressed with a lot of these teams either.

Rilee EBY / Jacob STARK from Kitchener are trying to give us a waltz. Oh I like the Cinderella music. Nice choice.
