2026 NextGen - Skate Canada | July 16-19

Ritchie / Dunn are a really powerful and fast team, and they've definitely improved a lot within the last year. I like them a lot in this program.

The only thing that worries me a little is their Twist technique. If they want to work towards a triple eventually, they may have to make the jump to a coach like Savin like Nagaoka/Moriguchi had to.

Alie with an e is such a cutie-pie. Love the When Harry met Sally music. Emerick handles her very nicely and easily. Really liking this team too!

well. this is interesting. Who will Skate Canada send ? The top 6 are all very close in the scores. We have 12 spots. Of course, they won't use them all. At the same time, most of these teams are still not quite at the level for JGP. Of course, maybe I am too demanding since we have 3-4 years of great junior pairs recently.

The remaining JGP spot allocations came out and Canada does indeed have 6 spots for Junior men (up 1 from last year) with one spot in each JGP except Ljubljana. Junior women have 4 spots (down one?) and the NextGen document has the number correct, but instead of Ankara, it should be Batumi

I like the program on Grayson. 3Combo a bit wonky but very good. Should be an early lead.

Looking to see Rui again and the mystery guy Colton Moness.
Want to find out about Art Tyomkin and what is his Detroit connection.

Nice presentation from Alexander Ge. Nice improvement from last year.

Really liking Colton Moness - he has a nice style that is different. Very well rounded skater.
Only did 3T-3T-combo and fell on 3LZ but interesting movement. Fresh out of novice.

I feel the same way.
Surely, we should at least use the spots up.
However, sending out a team like Violet and Sean might actually cause more damage than good.
Depending on how the free skates go, I would give two spots to teams that can place decently at JGP and then one spot to the rest of the teams in the top six.

Travis Trang is dressed in red and black taking notes in fashion and style from Junhwan Cha with trailing fabric pieces.

Art is also taking up Pairs, he's entered in Novice Pairs for Skate Ontario August.
Nice tall, artsy guy. He should do well. Trying to figure out how to describe his music - Godfather tango?
One big pop is going hurt his score.
