2026 Olympics: General Info and Pregame Chat

If you get an info let ne know. My camera will not take pro photos but I'd like to have them a little better than the one my phone does
I have a small camera with a decent zoom but I'd love to take the big one, the lens length would be okay. I only got automatic answers so far and the last one said "We're very busy right now..." and I thought "Yeah go figure you're busy in January, that's why I started mailing in OCTOBER!"

Was bored and decided to try and predict the women’s results of Milano a month early. These predictions will definitely change after the results of euros and 4cc though..

let me know your thoguhts 🤔 and also let me know if I have incorrect information about who is being sent to the Olympics lol

I was hoping someone would start predictions. My feeling is that the top three spots will contain one Japanese woman, one Russian woman and one US woman. However, I’m not sure who those three will be and what order they will end up in.

I’ll be doing play-by-plays for (hopefully) all the singles events, including the team event if I can make it.

I don’t think I’ve ever done play-by-plays for this big a competition before, but I’ve been refining my spreadsheet system so I think it should be fine.

I don't know if this has already been discussed, but will the ISU YouTube channel stream as usual?
Where are you based? For me, the Olympics were always worth the one month paid subscription for whichever channel was broadcasting them. You get all the sports, replays, and on some I think you even get a choice of which feed you want to listen to. I am in Europe and HBO had the past two Olympics covered as a part of the standard plan - no need to purchase the Sports expansion plan.

Thank you for posting the Time Schedule. Because I didn't realise it was starting so soon! The first competitive action is tomorrow fortnight. 😲 I had it in my head that the Olympics didn't start until the 20-somethingth of February! :drama: So I thought I had a month to get things prepared. Not 2 weeks!

When discussing the Uzbekistan situation in the other thread about a month ago, @Andrea82 told us that the deadline for entries was 26th January. Now that I know that competitions start on 6th February, is that not very late? For most skating events, the deadline is usually a month in advance.

Also, the Olympics starting earlier than I thought doesn't leave a lot of time between Four Continents and the Olympics! It's going to be a really tough schedule for those American skaters that are doing Nationals, Four Continents, and the Olympics.

Yes, I'm thinking of my kids, Emilea and Vadym! At least they will have a bigger gap between the Olympcs and Senior Worlds.

Forgive the U.S.-centric inquiry, but looking at the weather for the next ten days or so for a large portion of the U.S., I do wonder if any of our skaters/athletes may struggle to arrive in Milan on time. How early do athletes typically try to arrive at an event like this? The team event is right at the start, followed by men's individual. I know this is "just skating" and safety is most important. Still, I would hate for any skaters to arrive feeling unprepared due to such travel woes (or, heaven forbid, not arrive at all).

Should I be worried? I guess the only way to know is to monitor social media for athlete arrivals in Milan.

Skating Club of Boston posted this today
So she met Spencer Howe and Max Naumov yesterday in Boston. Official practice in Milano will start next saturday and the guy from USFS said they will meet on 29th in Bergamo... My guess is the skaters will arrive in Bergamo Monday or Tuesday
