2026 Olympics: General Info and Pregame Chat

Reading all about your plans made me think, should I go, too? Now, I can't decide to go or not to go. I've found an appartment for less than 140 € per night and I've to decide in the next hours, if I want it or not. The Milano tickets are expensive, but they won't be cheaper in Nice, and Nice is definitly more expensive accomodation wise, and farther away. To Milano I may take the train. I guess I should go for a walk.

Is there any chance the Discovery coverage will have the Hogben/Noonan commentary as an option?

Always enjoy Olly's commentary, whatever the sport. He does his research and is very enthusiastic.
Not a fan of Reed.

If not I guess I'll be saving my 3.99 and navigating the fragmented BBC coverage and rewatch it on the Olympic website at a later date.
I remember listening to Belinda during the last Olympics which I watched on Eurosport.
Discovery has Eurosport. So my guess is yes?

Once in a lifetime...Go for it!!

Hello and thank you @DemTuppesSeine and everyone involved for info about the practice tickets! Is it the same as other events where you get a specific assigned seat or you're allowed to sit anywhere within that sector?
I think I'll buy a ticket to Women's Free practice on 18.02. That will mean going to Assago for 3 days in a row, 1 hour metro ride one way each time 🙈

I already have my practice ticket and it's assigned seats but only Cat A so lower level

No... Please don't ruin your coverage, BBC... :( I was hopeful when she didn't do Euros that they had woken up and realised that she simply cannot commentate on figure skating. I will definitely be watching Discovery/TNT now, not the BBC. Let's hope that whoever does the commentary there will be decent.
Thats bad news, but I thught it would happen, its a shame because the commentator they used at the Europeans was an improvement, she sounded interested and had done some research. Its a shame BBC don't offer a no commentary choice like other channels.
Not sure I will bother watching it now, plus with the whole ICE being at the Olympics has kinda of spoilt it for me.

So the men are skating on Friday the 13th? Excellent.....LOL!

@elektra blue - this was your doing, wasn't it?

You cast a spell on the person drawing up the schedule, didn't you?

This has nothing to do with this Olympics.

My Xumo streaming service is restoring Rio, Pyeonchang Olympics
The making of Team USA for the Milan Cortina

Apparently they are cracking down on VPNs for the Olympics 😭😭 I feel stressed out and miserable whenever I think about it. Stressed and miserable is actually how I feel a lot these days as an American, but skating was my refuge. I was hoping to avoid Peacock but it is better than nothing. Have they said how long replays will be on Peacock? I'm scared that I won't have time to watch everything.

No:cry:, the Olympics are always for natinal broadcasters....maybe the Olympics YT channel will, don't know, they will eventually upload the whole event, you can find the previous Olympics there now
Although I assume it will be geoblocked in the US.

someone posted a Japanese stream in the US Nationals thread. I was able to watch that without VPN. They have 4 channels all called Jsport. I am sure one of them will show skating
Thank you very much. I'll give this a try.

I'm trying to figure out the Peacock tiles. I see there are "venue feed" options for all of the segments. What is that? My best guess would be a commentary free version, and my worst guess would be a fixed camera high in the stands somewhere. . .

I have no chance to watch Peacock but I read somewhere that they are showing practice sessions. Maybe that's just a "venue feed" with less cameras and no commentary?

I hear you. There is alot. I am not sure which one outside of team is actually 🤔 showing the individual competition ;)

Not that I heard. U shouldn't be. I hope they keep them up during the Olympics and the next month.
