The 2026 Silver Skate Winter Cup is set to take place January 29 – February 1, 2026, in Kaunas, Lithuania, at the Kaunas Ice Palace.

It will feature the Singles (Junior and Senior) discipline and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations, and relevant ISU Communications.

OK, I don't know what is going on. The stream was supposed to come on air 20 minutes ago, and the competitions were supposed to start 15 minutes ago. But there is no sign of life on either the stream or the livescoring page.

At this rate of going, I could have had my cereal ate and had my first slice of toast!

In fact, I think I will do just that. If it starts while I'm away, all the links are in the OP.

EDIT: I've found out what is going on. The times of all the competitions have changed since I made out the table for the OP last night! :drama:

Day 1 of the Silver Skate Winter Cup begins now in the Interclub part of the event, before moving the the ISU part of the event for all four SP segments in the afternoon, before returning to the Interclub part of the event in the evening.

Livestream for the Novice B Ladies FS is now on air.

And we haven't missed anything. They are on their Warm-Up.

Mmmmm. The camera is detecting faces.

I hope they sort that setting out, because having squares appear around faces will get very annoying very quickly.

The second skater, Silvija KUKTAITE (LTU), skated to "I See Red" by Everybody Loves An Outlaw.

Now that is the type of music I would love to see skated to more often! :rock:

That was a really enjoyable programme from the Lithuanian girl that started off the Cubs B Ladies FS. But, you know how much I love Indian themed programmes!

Her costume was interesting. She was wearing a red top that was what you would expect for this theme of programme. But with it, she was wearing black trousers where each leg was shaped into thirds. I don't know if it was done using elastic bads. But it could have been.

Well, it started with a trailerised version of the theme tune. But thankfully it soon turned into the real version.

She was wearing a red boiler suit, with black straps.

She goes into the lead.

Two really enjoyable programmes to start the competition. Let's hope it continues like this.

That was different.

We just had back-to-back Latvian girls, from different clubs. The second one of them, from the Jelgava club, was wearing a netball dress. And skating to some very lively music. I didn't know any of the songs, but they sounded like they were from a musical.

And amongst the gifts she got was a miniature basketball. So, maybe it was supposed to be a basketball strip that she was wearing. Yes, I just wound back and checked, and the bottom half of the costume was more reminiscent of a pair of shorts than a skirt.

She goes into the lead.

So we now have an all-Latvian Top 5 (representing 4 different clubs). And 7 Latvians in the Top 9 (representing 5 different clubs). And the first girl to skate is still the top Lithuanian, in 6th position. But with one Latvian and eight Lithuanians still to skate, I suspect that the standings will change significantly.

Final group of Cups B skaters just finished their warm-up. 6 girls and 1 boy.

I'm intrigued to find out who the Ice Dancers that are skating after this group will be. The only partnership I can think of with those first names are Sofiia HOLICHENKO / Artem DARENSKYI (UKR). But they are Pairs skaters.

Could this be the debut of a new Lithuanian Ice Dance partnership?

Just to update you, with three left to skate, we have a Latvian Top 4. We had a Lithuanian girl (skater #14) go into 5th position, and the last Latvian skater (skater #17) just slotted into 6th position, pushing our Latvian Ghostbuster down to 7th position.

I love the music that the next Lithuanian girl (skating #18) is skating to! It sounds like Evanescence, but the line I used to do a lyrics search did not come up with any of their songs. (It came up with Neil Young!)

She is wearing a dark blue dress with sparklies, and a light blue belt.

She goes into 9th position.

There were no further changes to the Top 5 in the girls competition. The final skater went into 6th position.

The Ice Dancers are Sofija KATEŠČENKO / Artemij PUMPUTIS (LTU)

They are a new partnership. Both of them were competing in Singles last season. Sofija in Chicks, and Artemij in Basic Novice.

Sofija wearing a green dress with a blue trim at the bottom of the skirt part. Artemij wearing a white shirt, black braces, and black trousers.

Not bad. Not bad at all!

That was impressive! And even more so when you consider that they are new to Ice Dance.

I'll be keeping an eye out for them in the future!

Right, I did a bit of digging during the resurfacing, and this is the song:

Novi - "Shadow Heart"

And now I know why I thought it was Evanescence. Apparently, the lyrics were written by a human, Novi Lianti, but everything else was AI generated. So, she probably prompted it to sound like Evanescence.

The girl skating to it finished up in 10th position.

Right, time to switch over to the ISU part of the event for the Juniors and Seniors. A double bill of girls, followed by a double bill of boys.

First up, we have 18 Junior girls.

Agnė IVANOVAITĖ (LTU) wearing a black dress with missing right sleeve and shoulder.

The music was beautiful. But it was kinda spoiled by some rapping coming in during the second half. Fortunately, the rapping was not very loud and was all but drowned out by the music.

On the whole, I enjoyed that programme.

A good start to the competition.

Skating to "Paris" by Caro Emerald. (It kinda reminded me of "Remedy" by Little Boots, a song I love).
