As if the required waltz sequence steps got stuck in there because they had to, but....OK, got that out of the way, now back to our sort-of slummy street tango. (Costumes, music, or choreography, take your pick.)

"Street tango" is my ballroom dance teacher's dismissive term for any inauthentic Spanish-style stomping around, whether it's an attempt to portray tango, paso doble, flamenco, etc etc. This had moments of that. Hopefully it will improve as the season goes on.it's not tango though

Very dismissive and since tango is from a completely different part of the world compared to the other dances, it makes the expression quite pejorative in a nationalistic way. But, I guess I'm too sensitive
