My comments about US Nationals is that they are hands down the hardest National event to watch every single year. If you are not American, then you are not invited to this party. One can watch the National Championship for nearly every other nation on planet earth. If you want your skaters to get that groundswell of support to build their world reputation then you must let them be seen. I say this as an American who has the opportunity to watch through domestic channels. Even that is inadequate - working people cannot watch the meat and potatoes of the event if one is a working person and has to binge watch the entire event into a single weekend before some arbitrary deadline expires. Also don't get me started on the later posting of videos with distorted music that destroys the original product. Imagine saying telling an interested fan that you should've seen Nathan Chen skate to Rocketman - only to have them not find it all or to find a video with garbled music that is not Rocketman - you just lost a new customer. Imagine seeing an event, discussing it with friends who want to watch it but cannot find it easily accessible or already expired - opportunity lost to build a chance of building any interest for future events. If its too hard to find - no one will bother to look for it. Losing your audience does not help pay the bills - skating is expensive, but so is all entertainment. The name of the game is making it a must see event that draws folks in and keeps them coming back while bringing others along with them. Okay thank you for indulging my frustrations on behalf of interested fans foreign and domestic.
