2026 Wild Rose Invitational | July 31-Aug 3

I’m excited for this event!!
Yes. There is no Lia. But, there is Haas/Lotz in Pairs. I wish they were at Next Gen. I hope they score over 110 here.

Also, Kate Morden, our PreNovice National Champion, has moved up to Novice Girls. I expect her to win Skate Trophy Novice Girls this season. That will be interesting.

Also, Uxia will be skating in Juniors and my fave, Kassidy Sinclair (a determined skater who I pick as an underdog to make Senior Women Nationals)

Don't they need to be skating as juniors domestically to be invited to Next Gen?

Oops!! Yes. They are only skating in Novice category. Never mind. Makes sense now. They must have not improved enough for Junior or NextGen.

Uxia is the one who has a chance here to get a junior international event, if she skates well. I think she needs 145. I’m not sure. She exceeded 145 at Nationals and got picked to go to the Poland event afterwards. Whatever benchmark she needs, I hope she gets it. These athletes now have to focus on domestic events to try to nab one international event.

These pre-juvenile bairns are adorable. :love2: Almost all of them seem to just be skating for enjoyment, without undue anxiety about marks, and they looks lovely in their skating dresses/costumes.

I like Katie Yu (Connaught). Does she have an older sister who competes? There seemed to be something familiar about her.

I also really like Olivia Chang. I know Champs skaters are often slow, but she had good speed across the ice for her stage of development.

I don't know whether the stream went weird and then froze, or if there was a big music problem in the middle of Fiona Sun's programme.

Skylah Chen (Connaught) is like a mini Amy. I wonder if Amy had the same coach as her when she was younger.

Based on her short here, she is definitely one to watch for.
