Skater #14 was skating to a cover of ABBA's "Thank You For The Music", where a girl was singing accompanied by just a piano.

Have to be honest, I thought the singer got a bit screechy at times. But, I am bringing it up because the skater was wearing a white top that had the keyboard of a piano on the front, and a Bass Clef on the back.

I thought that was really clever, pairing that song with that top design!

By the way, skater #17 in the girls competition withdrew, so both groups ended up having 10 skaters.

We now go straight into what is the start of a Basic Novice triple-bill. The older girls, then the younger girls, then the boys. First up, we have the 29 older girls, who are arranged into a group of 7; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 7; followed by a group of 8.

The last girl in Group 1 skated to "Show Me How You Burlesque" by Christina Aguilera.

No. Not right for a girl of that age.

Her coach looks to be in her early twenties, so she is maybe too young to know better.

Resurfacing now at the rink, and breakfast for me.

Not a great camera position for the Warm-Up. We saw Oliviia lining up lots of jumps, but every one of them was done outside of camera shot.

You can tell that she is new to this age division. Because she was tiny compared to the other girls on the ice with her!

But, now that the first skater in the group has finished, it is time for Oliviia to do her programme.

Oh, different pogramme. "Bolero" must just be for Cubs competitions this season.

Don't know the music at all. But, she was definitely going for the spooky theme!

Just about landed the first jump.

Everything else was effortless!

Don't know who the two ladies with her are (Anna is in Astana with Arlet).

EDIT: The lady with the black hair in the black coat is 2006 Estonian Senior Ladies Champion Jelena Muhhina; and the lady with the blonde hair in the cream coat is Oliviia's Mum!​

Into the lead with a score of 46.41.

Getting back to the age inappropriate music theme, while skater #16 was waiting for her scores, the uncensored version of "Love Yourself" was playing over the speakers.

I just don't know what they are thinking!

By the way, I'm running about 12 minutes behind, from popping in and out to get toast, clean teeth, etc. since Oliviia was on. But, I hope to be caught up by the end of the next resurfacing.

By the way, I am nearly sure that skaters #4 and #19 are sisters. When I saw the names in consecutive positions in the results table (going into the final group, Loore was in 2nd and Emma was in 3rd), I got curious and went hunting.

I found photos of them on their club's Facebook page, and when you see them together, they are so alike! In fact, they might even be twins, because in some of the photos they are dressed exactly the same. And I couldn't tell them apart.

We continue our Basic Novice triple-bill by moving from the older girls to the younger girls. 15 of them, arranged into a group of 7; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 8.

I'm still playing catch-up on the older girls, and will be bailing out when they finish to watch the morning repeat of last night's F1 sprint race, because I've found out my Dad will be out when the afternoon repeat is on.

Not bad for what is not just her first international competition representing Cyprus, but is also her first competition in the older Basic Novice division.

The two Estonian skaters that I reckon are twins ended up in 3rd and 4th. So, one of them gets a medal and the other doesn't.

That is so cruel!

It's times like this that I can see merit in the American idea of a Pewter Medal.

We have a group of 10 Chicks Axel girls; followed by a group containing 5 Chicks Axel girls and the first 5 Pre-Chicks C girls; followed by a group containing the last 2 Pre-Chicks C girls and the first 8 Chicks C girls; followed by a group containing the last 2 Chicks C girls and the first 6 Chicks B girls; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group containing the last 5 Chicks B girls, 1 Chicks B boy, 2 Pre-Chicks B girls, and 1 Pre-Chicks B boy!

Since it is getting so complicated, I will do one post for all of these groups.
