2025 ISU International Adult Competition | Jun 29 - Jul 4

The 2025 ISU International Adult Competition will take place Jun 29 - Jul 4, 2025, in Oberstdorf, Germany.

This competition is an “International Masters/Adult Competition” as per Rule 107(12) of the ISU General Regulations. Oversight of the competition on behalf of the ISU is provided by the Adult Figure Skating Group (AFSG).

Participation in the Free Skating, Pair Free Skating, Artistic Free Skating, Pair Artistic Free Skating and Ice Dance disciplines at the International Adult Figure Skating Competitions is open only to competitors who have reached at least the age of twenty-eight (28) before 1st July 2024.

For Synchronized Skating, at least three quarters (75%) of team members (not including alternates/reserves) must have reached at least the age of twenty-eight (28) before 1st July 2024. The remaining members of a team
must have reached at least the age of twenty-five (25) before 1st July 2024.

I popped in during the adverts after the end of the Moto2 race about an hour ago, and the final skater in Group 2 of the Bronze IA Ladies Artistic FS, Anastasiia BELOKUROVA (UKR), was just coming onto the ice. And I thought "that is some costume!"

Unfortunately, you can't wind back the stream. But, I found her Instagram, so here she is at Skater Berlin in February:

In case you are wondering, she was skating to "Roar" by Katy Perry.

While on there, I found out it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago. Don't know what age she was, but Class I is the youngest age group of adult skating.

Mmmmm. I wonder. Did Natalia by any chance watch the video I made for Giorgia's 18th birthday? Because she was skating to the music that I used for it - the instrumental version of "Arabian Nights" from Disney's "Aladdin".

She was wearing a beautiful pale blue dress just like Princess Jasmine wore in the film.

A beautiful skate. I really enjoyed that.

She has a lot of support too. Liubov is sitting at the end of the sofa. I wonder if the guy sitting next to Natalia is her husband. He's definitely Cypriot anyway.

She goes into 13th position.

Day 2 in Oberstdorf is about to get under way.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to watch LIVE like I planned to because there are quite a few things expiring from on demand services today that I intended to watch last week, but things didn't work out the way I envisaged.

For the next four days, the streaming will take a different format to yesterday. There will be two streams each day, with the switchover happening at an appropriate point sometime around 16:00 CEST (14:00 GMT).

Right, I'm popping in to watch the first of my "kids", Liubov SAVINOVSKAYA (CYP), who is having her Class III swansong today. She ages out of Class III tomorrow.

It would be amazing if she won Gold Medals on each of her final two days in this age group.

That was great! She was so into that performance.

She goes into the lead. Everybody with her is jumping up and down absolutely delighted.

Meanwhile Liubov gets emotional for the second day in a row. After 10 years competing in Class III, it's clear that going out on a winning note would mean the world to her.

Oh, I hope she can hold onto it.

Just looked at the results for the Silver III Ladies FS.

Ach, I feel so sorry for Liubov. 2nd position. And it was so close. Just 0.21 points behind the winner, Cathy LYND (CAN).

You could see how much it meant to her when she went into the lead.

But, going away from your final event in the age group you have been competing in for the past 10 years with a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal is still a great achievement.
