Omigosh, yesterday at the grocery store I was at the self-checkout thingy and the lady next to me asked to used my card (gives you discounts on the overpriced items in the store, I'm sure most of you know about this but I didn't want some of our foreign members to be confused) because she forgot hers. I let her use it, she gives it back, and then I pay cash. My order only ends up being like $3 and I'm all "Huh" because I got way more than $3 worth of stuff and then the cashier-ish woman who monitors the self-checkout kiosks informs me that I had a discount reward on my card.
I was like oh, cool, so I stick $20 in the money feeder and start putting the bags in my cart. Then the lady next to me is like "OMG, why is my order only 16 cents???" The casier-ish woman then informs her that she got a discount on her card too. The lady (she's really cute and young looking btw, *boggle*) then is like "Oh oops, that was your card. I owe you $20". Apparently I am supposed to get three of these $20 discounts in a row on my card. KEWL! I tell her not to worry about the $20 it but she's like "No, I insist!", so she walks over to the ATM to get the money for me. How nice!
I leave the store all happy and then suddenly this guy comes up from behind me and is says "HEY BOSS, DID YOU PAY WITH CASH?!?!?!" I'm thinking...huh?..."Yes I did", I reply. Then he says "oh this must be yours then!" and hands me some money. Amidst all the confusion with the lady using my card and the discount thing and then her giving me $20, I had forgotten to take my $17 of change from the checkout kiosk!!! OOPS!
But that made the whole thing even better because it in that instant my faith in Humanity was restored! Two really nice strangers in a row, whoa!
