Most countries are not taking in Russians at this time. That may change if there's ever a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine or if the war ends in the Spring or summer. But for now I don't think Sasha can leave even if she wants to.

Canada may be a long shot at this point sasha may have a better chance to move her training base to country closer to home like Estonia or Georgia where they have world class figures skaters. If Russian banks are still close down outside of Russian banks are still closed down in Europe for instance and and around the world then it will be impossible for Russian skaters to travel out of Russia that's why I say temporarily move to another country until the war is over and Russian banks are opened backup internationally.

If someone has a special talent-like science, sports etc, the US will accept them. There is a long tradition in the US of fast tracking talented people -famous ballet dancers, rocket scientists, NHL players etc. The reality may well be that either they leave or finish their careers. It is going to be interesting to watch-not just Sasha, but the others as well (including coaches) who will jump ship? There is also the very real possibility that Russia will crack down on travel ala Soviet days. (Assuming you find a way to travel)

Are you talking about traveling or are you talking about sasha changing her citizenship under some emergency provision? I'm not sure she would switch her citizenship. I'm an American and I love my country but I've been ashamed of many things we have done in the world the last 20 years. Sasha can still love her country no matter what her leaders have done.
