OMG!! I’m slayed!!! This program is awesome!! I don’t think anyone lands with as much poise and ability to deliver intricate and well done steps. Her skating skills are improving from a powerful confident standpoint. You see it in those transitions but even that crazy edge she uses out of the flying spin to center herself is very impressive. Skidding or traveling a few revolutions is common and allowed but she has none of that.

I love this choreo and line into 3z-3lo but what she does after the combo leading all the way up to the flying spin I just discussed is beyond exceptional.

I noticed a slight delay out of the cantilever and extension. It makes her look strong and confident. My only complaint is that you can tell by not doing quads she seems a bit restrained. We’re so spoiled :laugh2:

Everything is good, clean, technical .. but not impressed, unfortunately,
something is missing :scratch2:

She may not have been fired up today. This is not JWC or Russian nationals. She was good and wll go down as the greatest junior girl.

I feel terrible saying this, but... I actually didn't like the program. Of course, most of that is not the program itself but the fact that I haaaaate Kill Bill (no offense to anyone who likes it). I can't be remotely objective about it, so I actually ended up muting the music and watching it to some random sci-fi music that I thought might go well with the costume.

I enjoyed it much, much more that way, but... yeah, as EdRoz put perfectly, something is just missing. Her skating is stunning as always, but there's something lackluster about the program. It just doesn't take full advantage of her tremendous skill.

First impression: People are still arguing about if Big Spender was appropriate for Sasha. Somehow everybody is fine with a song related to film about violence, blood and all, I wonder what's with the people

I question whether or not Kill Bill is appropriate for figure skating at all, if there is such a thing. I don't seriously think that my opinions have any power over anything, but it almost feels like this is some sort of grand cosmic payback for thinking that Big Spender was one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. (<---that is 100% a joke, please no one take it seriously)

Anyway, Sasha is my favorite female skater, even more than any of the seniors, so I really hope I can learn to appreciate the program more...

It’s look like—she did her job and nothing else...
I expected more-Sasha is on fire, as usual

I agree that the fire was missing. But I think the program is a good fit for her and the jumps are super impressive, to say the least. So I hope we'll see the fire when she gets more used to the program itself.

The fire will come. This is her first competition. And that 3Lz-3Lo actually quite looked like some fire to me.

This SP program suits her so well! I think her performance will be really good as the season progresses. The costume can be better though, agree on that a bodysuit only would look better.

Maybe that is my problem too. I just don't like Tarantino, his films always look to me like, how to say it, obscenity of violence. It looks to me that what others do by watching naked people, Tarantino does by the way he portrays killing. That's why I'm unable to watch his films and any allusions to them prevents me from being objective.

i don't like this program yet, but it has a potential to grow on me.. for now there are two nice highlights - lutz-loop combo accented to the music and the final spin entry

Well, I revised Sasha's program again, and again, and two more times. I understand the general choreographic design - in the first half of SP Sasha should only hint at her power, and in the second half she must explode and crushed you.

In the first half, there must be a deadly smoothness of the movements of the panther interspersed by bursts of force. And this is hampered by the childish jerking of Sasha's movements, which until now has remained (although less than before).

The second half of the program worked out better, Lz-Lo just killing you - it's really powerful, perfectly in accent to musical blow. But the sequence of steps after that should be a bit fiercer, sharper (yes, I realized that she is tired by this moment) As I understand it, here she slashes the enemy with the sword. This also needs to be done more sharply, more "violently" (At the end of the turn she is no longer interested, she does not finish the blow and it's clear that she does it formally. No girl, it must be something like that ).

I believe that is good SP, and most importantly - it will make Sasha grow over himself during the season.

I would like to see some more intensity, too. I don’t think it’s because she’s tired (I mean, the girl can do three quads ;) ). I definitely wish it was a full-on yellow outfit. A tracksuit, preferably. But a jacket on top and maybe a matching skirt for the bottom. And a darker eyeshadow can help, too.The look can be adjusted as the season progresses.

Her skating looks cleaner, smoother and more polished than last year. Jumps are very secure. Nothing looked extraneous or unnecessary to my eye. Excited to see improvements! Good luck, Sasha. I bet on you to win the Worlds next year :) :)

Yes! They should get rid of the pants and put a jacket/long sleeve top and skirt, it would look so cute

I really enjoyed the 2nd half - the first half wasn't very interesting or effective for me. But she was fabulous overall.

Tiny Overlord is intentionally trolling you in the first half of the program with understated subtly. She knows you want more but she holds back....It’s so obvious :laugh2:

SMH :noshake:

I’m untrollable though ....I love it from start to finish :taunt:

Just saw the SP. Her 3Lz 3Lo had an even better flow and speed than Zagitova's. It's the best 3Lz 3Lo I've ever seen. Sheer jumping talent indeed.

The whole pass into and out of it are brilliant too and right on the beat.

Finally, after re-watching Sasha's short program for the 15th time, I can collect my thoughts (at least most of them).

Sasha performed with such power that is only available to a few top men. She clearly looks restrained by the limited set of elements of a short program, but each of the elements was executed as if she wouldn't mind to add another rotation or a backflip here and there.

The accented 3Lz-3Lo is just mind-blowing. The average GOE of 4.44 speaks for itself.

The composition of the program is really cohesive and harmonious. The lyrical first part allows Sasha to show some feminine artistry beyond the child's play of the previous SP. Then building the tension, the calm before the storm; and then - Sasha at her best, dominating over the rink, the music and everyone's mind and senses. There are so many little details in this program, little musical accents, so it makes me wonder, how they managed to have it created and rehearsed by the beginning of the season.

In this season many of Daniil's programs have a two or three-second delay at the beginning, adding certain sublimity, the feel that a skater knows his own worth and doesn't need to rush. Sasha's worth is double, so there is another pause in the middle of the program.

Thankfully, I don't remember Kill Bill well, so I can just enjoy the music as is, and the music suits Sasha perfectly. She's the only girl in the world capable of harnessing such power.

I love the costume of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. I can't understand why some people say it looks as two different costumes or that the jumpsuit would be better without the dress - imagine Yuzuru's last FS without the shirt...

Probably the only thing I missed in Sasha's program is her hypnotizing glare from her last FS. This served her very well in the first half - as if she isn't playing any role and just being herself, ready to slay anything or anyone at will. But in the second half her look was kinda lost somewhere around the rink. There were a few looks (>1<, >2<, >3<), but they were only for a fraction of a second, the director couldn't even take a close-up.

All in all, this is my favorite program in this season so far. Sorry, Alena and Alena.

By the way, I found it remarkable that Sasha was delighted with the audience and the attention to her, but she seems not to care for the perfect skate or the scores at all. "It's higher now" is all she said when she saw the scores.

I would like to see some more intensity, too. I don’t think it’s because she’s tired (I mean, the girl can do three quads ;) ).

I think she was little bit nervous. She was skated first, she knew that all world was looking at her and expected the best performance from her.
It is a lot of pressure. But, from no on I believe she can do better. :)
