Alexandra Trusova

Well, Sasha is one of those who when they do not change history today, they can easily say "So what, tomorrow is a new day"

In my opinion, this FP is Daniil's best work. ever.

I agree. It is the right program for her. Last year was a bit too frantic, this is just fun, and some interesting transitions. Shows the best of what Sasha is, which is fierce, acrobatic etc. While I think some of his programs tend to look alike, this wasn't.

Whoa, Trusova's programs are a breath of fresh air and actually good. I'm pleasantly surprised, esp after the hot messes that Daniil choreographed for Zagitova and Kostornaia.

Am I the only one who likes Sasha's short program much more in every aspect (except the lack of quads), especially the costume? I wish someone could explain this salmon with a fig leaf to me... :slink:

No problem!
Check out these Fifth element movie pics. This is probably where the costume comes from:

I actually like the FS costume more.

 Sasha's short program costume looks like a dress over a full body suit.

Jeroen PRINS who is a known Russophobe gave Trusova way too low of a scores and clearly is politically motivated :dev2:

Hi folks,

Just a friendly reminder

Please keep ALL competition chat in the Competition forums until the entire event is over. This includes scores, starting orders, elements, GOES, links to videos, etc.

After the event is over, you can discuss individual results in their respective folders .

Thanks for you understanding and for supporting Golden Skate!

shame and disgrace
and these kind of ...... people have courage to say something.......
They should not be allowed anywhere near Figure Skating and Juniors.

No problem!

I was happy when I saw your post because I was thinking the only thing that could redeem this costume for me would be if it was from some scene in the film I had forgot about.
However, the first picture, the blue opera singer, it doesn't look like Sasha's costume; and the second picture, there are just 3 heads. Thanks for getting these, but do you have any that resemble Sasha's costume?

Dante, I think I read that most of the international and/or Russian fans don't like Sasha's LP costume (?). Here at GS it seems like 95% of the people like it.
I might as well here say that for me the LP costume gets a, brace yourself, 2.4 (out of a 6.0 scale). I dislike the cuts and color scheme. It's pretty ugly. I guess there was some orange, which was a nice nod to the probably most famous costume in the film, the orange one.
The blue opera singer would be a nice look, but that's not who she is playing.

As I'm on the subject of costume, the SP dress-suit gets about a 3.5. This isn't a Mortal Kombat program. Forget the dress part, just give me a full body suit like the Bride, I don't even care what color anymore.

Thanks Moonkat, and thanks for the killer yellow picture!

One thing about both costumes, SP and LP, they photograph very well. They just jump out at you, through a sea of pastels and sequin dresses which start to look alike. I didn't love the SP bumblebee outfit, but in photographs-boom-it leaps off the page, and it grows on you. The LP is just..fierce. Like Sasha. Another way to look at it: Out of all the grand prix's which costumes do you remember, and other than Sasha's, can you describe a single one, or even remember the color?

the angelic dress)
do i have to write who is the owner?

I do not like a yellow color. Even then I find Sasha's costumes are very memorable and unique. Experimental. I love FS' costume.

I'm going to say this without any judgement because there's no good or easy answers... if you're going to be going up against girls with 3A and you don't have one then 3 quads might be needed... but there are risks beyond injury for going for such a high tech layout.

1. The bore the judges factor. Besides the injury hurting her momentum, I think Medvedeva at the Olympics was hurt a bit by doing extremely similar programs 3 years in a row. I'm worried they're going to find what maximizes Trusova's TES and do the same jump layout for her entire career. I think it's a good idea for them change things up when they can afford to.
2. Bias towards parity factor. Whether the judges want there to be some "tension" and "drama" or if some just want the "artists" to be competitive, there is definitely a tendency to boost others when someone gets way ahead technically. There's a danger in begin labeled the jump girl when you can be much more. TBH, I find her programs last year to be more "artistic".

There wouldn't be any similar layouts at all. She constantly learns new jumps and her body grows. I expect even more harder layout at JWC for example - maybe even 4 quads, However - most likely next season, even if she will keep her quads - they will make her layout more easy. Maybe only one quad. Puberty and so on.

With that I agree. It's apparent even now - they just didn't want to ratify perfectly clean 4Lz just because. So it became UR. Disgusting politicking.

Em.. no. Her last season SP is on par with new programs in terms of artistry. Her last season FP was about jumping mostly, tbh. On other hand new programs have tons of artistry, especially SP.

hmm maybe it represents the explosion of the movie villain:

What a talent!

Love both costumes. They really set her apart.

And that is a great thing since her jumping already sets her apart from just about everybody else on the planet!!!!

I find she has a very unique style which to me also sets her apart.

Personal highlights for me....
SP - the way she held the landing edge of the 2A and 3lz-3lo combo with BOTH jumps on music accents
LP - quad combo right after the very hard fall and her 3lz-0.5lo-3sal sequence (she did 2 lutz combos - also very impressive)

When she reaches seniors she has the potential to REALLY shake things up technically as Midori Ito did 30 years ago.
That is the ultimate compliment I can give to a skater.

just as an aside - hearing "The Fifth Element" brought back nice memories of watching it 20 years ago on an AMTRAK train from NYC to Boston.
The gentleman sitting beside me played it from a DVD on his laptop. People walking down the aisle asking what we were watching.
