Sasha always rotates so faster in her quads it is scary to watch for me. It looks even fast than the men's rotation.

Everyone is celebrating Alena K's win, but I hope that Sasha is not disheartened. In sport, you win some, you lose some. Sasha took a risk this time, and it didn't pay off, but she is still the first lady to attempt three quads. That's more than what a lot of senior men try.

Go Sasha! :hap10:

Someone on Twitter noted that whenever Sasha has a good practice (like today) she messes up her quads in competition and when she has a bad practice she slays her quads. I found that theory interesting

I do wish she would do two 4Ts instead, since it seems to be a pretty consistent jump for her now and she never underrotates it. Go ahead and still do a 4Lz for competition practice, but putting 2 in the program when it’s not a high percentage jump is unnecessarily risky. Same goes with Anna. She has yet to do it successfully internationally, so doing multiple quads is too much too soon.

It was a good day to lose. Better here and now till you are young.
All sweets tomorrow. She only needs to proof she's not a one way meteor in the sky.
She failed, raised, failed again and... still raised and stood solid and did 4T.

How many skaters delivered a solid quad after two crashes? One day she may put a quad in the second part of FP, definitely.

Would be interesting to compare her 100% of the FP against the same of Kihira (I know she also didn't make 100% of FP today).

She didn’t lose...no need to say it like that

Totally agree on this. The fact that Sasha opted to take the risk is why I admire her. She could have won by going for an easier layout, but she is taking these falls to be able to have a more stable 4 lz in the future, just like how she did with 4 toe in the past. I think the competition between her, Alena and Anna can benefit everyone, like the one between Yuzuru and Javier.

She lost a carton medal of JGP but she already has one from the last year.

Worse is that she lost her battle to Kihira for how many points? I mean TCS only.

When comparing four best female jumpers of our time - Kihira, Tuktamusheva, Trusova and Shcherbakova - we know who is the Number One today.

But the last two have to wait another year before allowed to dance with the grown ups.

Juniors get significantly lower PCS than seniors all the time, yesterday's high pcs for Alyona Kostornaia was huge exception, although if she would compete in seniors, she would get even higher, Sasha the same. Comparing pcs for juniors and seniors the way you do it is pure demagogy. We can compare tech score, because there is not much difference, not components.

Sasha, congratulations! She is a true fighter, and a kind spirit, too, and she treated this second place with so much dignity and grace!

The way she fought for everything, and after two errors was able to stand up, jump a quad and complete the rest of her program clean, this shows her tough mental. I appreciate very much her performance from yesterday and I am sure...the future can be hers. [emoji173]

I agree with everyone that says Sasha should have combo'd the 4T instead of 4Lz. There are a few reasons though that I came up with.
1. Maybe Sasha wants the challenge of doing two 4Lz? She does like jumping
2. I wonder how much input Eteri had on this
3. Look at how many 4T's she's popped this season
4. Competition with Anna?

I know about weighted junior PCS, but I mostly interested comparing TCS.
And artificially inflating Kostrnaya's PCS the Board only wanted to give the 1st place to the one who deserves more "today". Which is the proper way to do things, actually.

Kihira's basic TCS 63.65 and 78.21 with GOE.
Kostornaya's : 59.23 and 74.37

But Sasha (and I'm deeply sorry for her) was totally ruined self: 78.12 and only 79.41. She gained one point vs Kihira with her two jumps down vs Kihira's only one.
She could be at 100+ points with all the quads done.

Yet again the Carton Medal is not a big deal. She lost 4th level tournament but prompted the Board to make desperate steps to balance the placement.
I totally agree with Board here.

I don't think the purpose of her life is to get gold in each competition. The approach was we go, we do what we have planned and then wait for the scores. The same was for Anna and Alena. It's not like it's Olympics or something. At least how I see it.

Even Alina didn't do any 3F-3Lo at practices, which she usually does.

I will only say that it's not TCS but TES. To the rest. BV is achievemnt by itself, it's not some guaranted floor from what you can bounce to the higher leves. If somebody has BV 78+, that means he has make very hard to achieve it, it is not like that the one with 63.65 and the one with 78.12 make same effort and then the one whose GOE differs more is better. No. Leaving PCS aside as it cannot be compared equally between juniors and seniors Sasha's program is much more difficult, her BV is much higher, for 15 points over Kihira and her final TES is still higher then Kira's. So in this "competition" fabricated by you Sasha defeated Rika itn tech score. Deal with it but stop spamming this fan thread with this BS.

Yes on 4.

For Sasha and Anna they are building for 2022 I hope they aren't overdoing it now with quads. I admire what Sasha is doing now but I hope she stays healthy she is spectacular. But what she does as a junior is secondary to what she does as a senior.

I think training for harder jumps now can also make it easier to keep the triples in high quality once they get older, both physically and mentally.
