Her base value is high enough that she can make that up if she's clean. Not if she isn't, though, assuming Kostornaia performs to what she's capable of.

Sure, she can. 10 points is about 1 quad. She‘s doing two 4T instead of a 4Lz and those are her more consistent quads. She has a great chance and after today I think she‘ll be even more determined. Falls happen to everyone, even Sasha Trusova. Better now than at Worlds, I‘d say.
Maybe, if she nails her fp, but I've heard that she might be injured. If so, my main wish is that she can recover quickly
Why do you think she‘s injured? She landed her other triples very well and did several clean 3Lz-3Lo in the warm-up. From her practice, we saw clean 4Ts. I don’t think she would risk doing quads if she was injured. That would be insane and more than dangerous. I think it was just a fluke mistake, happens to everyone once in a while. We‘re not used to it from Sasha but she‘s human too after all. She can still win tomorrow. She‘ll need to fight but I‘m sure she will.

injured ? but she has been jumping quads in practice, her toe jump was off axis and threw her off her center so she fell on her knees but she supported on both hands

Jackie Wong posted a gasps in Spanish tweet about Sasha falling, and there were a few replies saying she was recently injured, I thought the fall was a fluke too

I think this is actually good for her, even though I'm disappointed that she had to fall :sad21:
It gets the nerves out of the way and lets her come back more determined for tomorrow. She needs something to work for
and now she'll go nail those quads. It also lets her not be perfect in her SP, which I think is good because otherwise there might be more pressure at JWC to be completely clean because, well, she always is

People say her doctor leaked that info two days ago that she is injured. I am not sure if I can believe that. A doctor would lose his job for leaking private info about a patient, at least where I live.

A doctor leaking info like that? This doesn‘t sound credible at all. You‘re right, they could lose their job if they did something like that. Also, we saw her land clean quads in practice. If she did that with an injury, it would be more than dangerous!! I doubt she‘d do that. I think she just had a bad day and made a mistake. And so what? She‘s human after all.
I do not believe at all in these injury rumours. If it turned out to be true after all, I‘d eat my words. But I‘d also be incredibly worried at her training quads despite this. But for now, I just don‘t think it‘s true. It doesn‘t make any sense.
Should be. I have no doubts actually that she‘ll be on the podium. I just wonder what colour the medal will be.

Well whether or not it's true, I just hope she can put together a clean free skate, she definitely has the skills to make up those 10 points in the free. Does anyone know the schedule yet?

Still, based on Jnr Nats alone, if Tarakanova finishes ahead of Trusova, Anastasiya should be sent to Jnr Worlds, fair and square.
But the decision is probably based on scoring potential and shown consistency over a longer period. If both girls are consistent, Trusova still has the edge in scoring potential, so Aleksandra will be sent to Jnr Worlds I think.
If it weren't for Plyushchenko's status as one of Russia's all time greatest figure skaters, I think Tarakanova, being a "Plyushchenko Angel", wouldn't have stood a chance against the might of MosKomSport's best rink in Khrustalniy's when it comes to less-than-objective selection criteria for JWC.
Will today's competitors have to compete again in Russian Cup, which is open to KMC and MC ranks, as their final decisive competition, or is registry for JWC closing before that?
