Aleksandra Trusova, the world famous (by now) girl that single handedly revolutionised female figure skating over the last two seasons,
the fearless, spunky kid that jumps off the ice as good as any adult male skater,
the kid that wears a red dragon on the back of her dress, indicating she has a burning fire of passion for figure skating,
the kid that smashes the shutters in front of the judges eyes in search of the 5th Element,
the one and only Devochka Tryuk, the original Quadster, who has her little doggie dressed in couture, who thinks her Rapunzel hair is her talisman,
the admirable little skater girl that gave us so much enjoyment, food for thought, whose results led to fierce discussions, she'll be a force to be reckoned with next season.
With Alexandra's junior skating life coming to a close, I tried to find all of her exhibition routines of late and there wasn't one I didn't like.
Though the English lyrics of some songs may have a bit too much 'adult innuendo' for a child to skate to, Aleksandra pulled off every routine to maximum effect.
Always grinning with mischief when a new routine was about to see the light, always smiling while skating, teasing the imaginary judges, always having the young girls in the audience screaming at the top of their lungs, no exhibition routine failed to excite the spectators.
I like two best: the slow blues of "Your Heart is as Black as Night" and the powerful and so appropriate "Unstoppable".
Hopefully there will be more performances with those?

In her first senior year, I hope Aleksandra keeps some of this tomboyish bravado in her skating, before moving on to more serious routines as she grows into a young lady.

LOL, Ladylike, when brushed straight and tied together. A professional hairdo and visage do wonders, Aleksandra suddenly looks a lot older and more serious, less mischievous. But that is some long ponytail, I've read she'd actually never cuts her hair, only removes the dead ends and strands.
There are some videos with her Rapunzel hair loose in some exhibition fun routine and Aleksandra had to pull it off the ice otherwise she would have skated right over it in her cantilever.

That's a cool picture! I have a soft spot for Adidas, growing up very close to where the whole brand originated, so I'm really happy to see Sasha represent them. :luv17:
