Alexey doesn't compete anymore, but I'd still like to keep this fan fest going.
Sometimes he can be spotted behind the boards of some novice competition with the baby Moskvich skaters, so there is still opportunity to cheer for coach Alexey!

And a little nostalgia doesn't hurt either. Here is one of my favourite photo series from a Russian Cup training session two years ago. Alexey and team mate Ilya rocking their costumes in an autumn colour palette.

It's that time of year when I would usually worry/cheer about Alexey qualifying for Nats. I do miss his skating a lot. An awful lot.

Now an old gem from the archives will have to do.
Competition "50 years of Sambo-70", September 2020. It was Alexey's first performance after his switch to his new coaching team. He skated out of competition because there was no senior category. The jumps were not all there yet, but he seemed to enjoy himself on the ice. The little chuckle after the wobble in the step sequence is priceless.
I just loved the atmosphere at these small tournaments, the echoing sounds of the blades on the ice in the almost empty rink, the training attire,...

Coach Alexey and one of his little students at a competition this weekend. The sentimental part of me is glad that he stayed at Moskvich rink to coach.
Meanwhile, former teammate Ilya moved on to a different skating club (ig for those who want to follow).
