I came across a book called "Murder on Ice" by Alina Adams. Has anyone read this? It seems to combine what I like most; mysteries (Agatha Christie is my favorite) and figure skating(Michelle Kwan is the fave).
The plot: At a World Championships, held in the USA, a Russian(think Maria B.+Oksana B.+Marina A.) wins the Ladies Championship over the favored American(think Kristi Phillips+Tara ) by one vote. The American public is in an uproar. The uproar escalates when the judge who casts the deciding vote is found dead by murder.
This is the farthest I've read. If anyone has read this is it any good? It seems a bit over the top; especially with the portrayal of the sportcasters. Do Peggy Fleming, Dick Button, and Terry Gannon really dislike each other that much? The reason I ask is that the author is credited as being a researcher for ABC and ESPN. Most importantly, is Bex Levy a sleuth who can hold her own with the likes of Hercule Poirot and Jane Marple? Well, at least enough to want to fininsh the mystery.
