Are the top coaches considered rich / well paid in Russia?

I don't know about others, but considering how much Eteri has got recently, she certainly doesnt have any problems with money

As for prize money and income from skating shows, just note that most Russian athletes do share their money with coaches and the Russian Federation. I have no clue how much that is, but I'm imagining it can be a significant amount.

Yes, skaters give to RusFed some percantage from commercial shows and there is also unofficial agreement between a skater and a coach, sometimes it is 50/50 of all prize money and shows.

As far as I know Lipnitskaya was more of a exception than a rule in this regard, and the second apartment she got had been presented to her by a private company, no other Olympic medalists have been provided with apartments from government.

Actually, a lot of Sochi olympic medalists received apartments, there were a lot of articles about that and some tv news. Some of the medalists from Moscow and Moscow region even became neighbours as their apartments were in the same building.

I remember Katsalapov saying, at that time, that he didn't get an apartament and had to sell his car in order to have money to train in USA.

Maybe you remember names then, cause the info in your link is very vague as well as in other sources I google searched, never specific names except Lipnitskaya. Which is weird, it's implied in the news that all Olympic medalists are provided with aparments in Moscow, but we never heard of them or from them about that,say Bobrova or Volosozhar. We know for sure though that Katsalapov and Sotnikova are not in the lucky list which in turn raises question whether these news are really trustworthy,as these two are bronze medalist and Olympic champion.
