Alina Zagitova

I can't believe I was ever doubting this event would be fun. I was worried I'd be sad not to see Alina there as a competitor. I didn't want to see her sitting on the sidelines as a 'captain' or glorified cheer-leader. I was so wrong! Watching Alina vacuuming her K&C, steaming the hockey jerseys and cheering for every single one of these skaters like they are her actual children or something is just melting my heart. The whole team is so invested it's adorable.

This is me

Regarding the idea, the image of the idea and the name of the team:

Alina's answer:

"Red car" is a symbol of Russia, victories. I love hockey, my life is connected with it. The name came by itself. Plus, Eteri Georgievna also helped me, she said that I have a lot to do with hockey, it would be cool. I agreed.

About the show: Initially, I wanted to do everything myself, but then I realized that nothing brings together as much as teamwork. And each offered something different. Daniil Markovich helped with the fireworks, it was cool. We created this issue together. At the beginning, our outstanding hockey players conveyed warm words, thank you for helping and supporting me.

This didn't occur to me until I read it in a comment on Sports.ru, but if ever there was a role that Alina was made for it is this one. She grew up cheering for her father and his teammates at every hockey game he played. Seeing her today watching each skater's every move, counting levels, made me think of the way she must have watched her father's games - never taking her eyes off the players and the puck.

And being raised by a coach she knew how to keep the team's energy up and encourage the ones who had a rough skate. No matter what happens tomorrow, win or lose, today was a positive experience in her life and hopefully for everyone on the team.

"Today I approached everyone, asked what needs to be done before the start, so that they feel calm. Denis Khodykin said that their couple needs maximum silence, so that we support them, but not very loudly - they are focused on skating, therefore, for some athletes, we did not shout as much as we would like, "Zagitova explained." Before the start, I do not tell them anything - the coaches tell them everything, and I only meet and support them as best I can. Today we managed to pull together as a team, everyone was happy and enjoyed it."
