Alina at a press-conference:
Zagitova: "It's a difficult time, but I'm happy to come to Japan."
"Alina Zagitova and Yoshikuni Dochin (*singer, author of the song to which Alina has performed her new programme) attending the press conference.
Alina Zagitova (19), Russian figure skater who won the gold medal at the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018, performed a Japan-Russia friendship programme in Tokyo on the 25th.
"It's a difficult time, but I'm happy to be in Japan," Zagitova said. She came to Japan in connection with the release of the Japanese-Russian co-produced movie "A Dog Named Palma" in Japan, and on the 18th she celebrated her 19th birthday in Japan. She smiled, "I couldn't get out of the hotel, but I was happy to do a lot of things in great detail." When Yoshikuni Dochin, the author of the theme song of the movie, welcomed her with "Congratulations", she answered "Arigatou Gozaimasu" in Japanese and smiled.
"As a skater" she said, "I'm always thinking about new programs. I want to do my best to reach everyone's hearts. I always want to show beautiful skating."
